Chapter 2

Luckily I had a decent outfit in my locker. I had a black tank top and light blue skinny jeans with my favorite black sweatshirt. As I was wearing my clothes, Sadie popped her head in.

"Whatcha doing?" She asked.

"Nothing. Asher invited me and Mable to go hang out with his friend." I replied nervously. Her eyes widended.

"WHAT? Which friend?" She asked. Sadie was one of the few people I could call a friend. She was very hardworking and smart in her studies and even though some of her characteristics were not exactly my favorite, I still loved her. She's got an amazing body and her hair was always changing colors because of her obsession with dying it.

"He said his name is Ace AND he is single" I started laughing because of the last part but she didn't join my laugh session. She looked so disturbed so I asked "Sadie, what's wrong?"

"Nothing. It's just that Ace is not a nice person that's all" She said in a serious yet concerned voice.

"It's not like I will like him or something although I was thinking about hooking him up with Mable because we can double date then." I said with a smile and Sadie shook her head with a smile of her own.

"You know you're so crazy sometimes" She said as she left. As I was leaving I got a text from Asher asking me if I could bring Sadie and a location was attached as well.

"HEY SADIE!" I ran off after her before she left.

"Yeah?" She said.

"Asher asked me if you can come with us" It was weird but I knew that Sadie hung out with a group of people and Asher was always with them.

"I'm sorry but I really have to study" She said and then she kissed my cheek as a goodbye signal.

I left and called Mable asking her to meet me at our spot in 5 minutes.

"Sage you forgot to wear a bra!" She exclaimed when I went to her. I looked down and realized that INDEED, I forgot to wear a bra and my nipples were showing through the tank top but it didn't matter.

"No one's going to notice anyways" I laughed.
"Whatever" She said and rolled her eyes. Mable and I are so different sometimes. Even though she is my best friend, we have some difficulties when it comes to our beliefs and morals. As an example, I support "free the nipple" movement while she thinks it's inappropriate. Sometimes we argue about the littlest things in order to end the arguement with a simple "I respect your opinion but I have my own". As I was thinking to myself, Mable looked at me.

"Hey do you think this Ace guy is going to be nice?" She asked. Well Mable was single and she was really looking for a relationship even though she's been crushing on this guy in our school who's a grade higher than us and it's been 8 months now but nothing has happened between them.

"I don't know Mabe BUT I definitely ship you guys because I would totally admire a double date." I smiled and she smiled back.

"I don't really like the people he hangs out with though. He is probably part of the group that Sadie is and I don't like them." She said and I shrugged. Suddenly my phone started ringing.

"Hello?" I greeted.

"Sage where are you?" It was my mom. I didn't tell her about the hang out and I was not going to because she wouldn't let me hang out with guys anyways.

"Heading to my German class Ma." I said.

"Alright. When does it finish again?" She asked suspiciously.

"9 sharp Ma." I said and we said bye.

We reached the location that Asher sent me and I called him.

"We're here." I said and he told me that he'll be there in a minute.

"Hey guys" He said as he came and his friend, Ace, was behind him. I looked at him and I instantly knew that he's high on marijuana AGAIN.

"Hey are you high?" I asked.

"Yeah. This is my friend Ace. Ace, this is Sage and that's Mable." He said. I looked at Ace fully for the first time since they came. His eyes were so cold and careless and he has this poker like attitude. I instantly disliked him but his eyes were just so beautiful. They were so brown and deep. I caught myself staring and instantly looked away.

"Hi" Mable said with a smile and shook his hand. His eyes were still on me and then he looked at my chest realizing that I was not wearing a bra. I blushed and said hi but didn't shake his hand. They were both stoned and I kind of felt scared. I looked at Mable and she signaled that she also feels scared a bit.

"So were are you guys taking us?" I asked.

"Lake Pontchartrain" Ace replied. His voice was so strong and silky. I blushed again but tried to hide it with a smart comback.

"For god's sake! From all the places you could've chosen in New Orleans, you decided to take us to Pontchartrain? Seriously? What are we gonna do? Look at fish together?" I said in a sarcastic tone. Mable looked at me and started laughing.

"Well it's what you get from us" Asher replied.
We took a cab to Pontchartrain and during the whole ride these two idiots were doing some random stuff like making circles with their hands or laughing at simple things we said. I was annoyed but still kind of grateful to spend time with Asher. Ace stole glances at me from time to time but I didn't read much into it. After all, I was not wearing a bra.

We got out of the cab when we arrived and I've got to say, lake Pontchartrain was one of my favorite places but these two idiots didn't have to know that. We bought beers from a supermarket and me and Mable followed them to a "special" spot that they insisted on going to. I've got to admit when we arrived, I was like "HOLY SMOKES THIS PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL" but I didn't say anything. Mable on the other hand, said exactly what I said in my head.

"This place is amazing!" Mable exclaimed.

"Yeah told you so." Ace smirked and looked at me knowingly trying to prove a point. We sat down and started drinking our beers.
"Guys! Let's play truth or dare!" Mable suggested with excitement.

"Nooooo" I said and snickered.

"I think it's a good idea." Asher said. I huffed and said fine under my breath. Mable put a beer bottle in between all of us and she started spinning it. The heads were pointed at me and Ace. We looked at eachother and I got nervous. He was looking at me with a cold stare but his lips were twitching which meant that he was trying to hold back a wicked smile although he didn't want to show it.

"So, Sage we have to give you a dare!" Mable said.

"Ugh please don't ask me to do something stupid" I said and smacked my head with my hand.

"Kiss Ace for 30 seconds." She said in a serious tone and I looked at her as if she's grown another head.

"What?" I whispered.

"You heard me! Kiss Ace!" She said excitedly.

"No!! You know why!" I said but she shook her head and started laughing. Asher was laughing too but Ace was showing no emotion at all.

"Do it or I'll make you do something worse" She said.

"Fineeeeeeee." I got up and whined and I went to Ace.

His cologne smelled like citrus and it made me shiver because it was actually fitting for him. I got near him and looked him in his eyes. Oh fuck! My first kiss and it has to be taken away by a coldass stranger I just met 5 seconds ago. He got closer and our lips were inches away from touching. My breath was caught in my throat and I felt like I was about to pass out. This is it. The moment I was waiting for since I was a kid writing dirty novels in useless notebooks my parents didn't want. I never imagined it to be like this. I kissed him and I instantly felt a spark. THE spark. It was like how I always imagined it to be. Magical and unreal yet so beautiful.

Mable started counting and when she got to 30, my brain got ahold of my emotions and I stood up. I instantly spat. Ace's eyes widened because he was probably thinking that his kiss was bad but it was not. It was far from bad. It was amazing. Sparkly even. But he didn't have to know that so I smirked at him and sat down as if the most important thing in the world to me didn't just happen. After all, boys like him don't need to know the vulnerable parts of a girl's desires or else they could easily make you fall in love with them.
