"Sage!" My mom screamed from her room.
"Yeah mom?" I went to her and stood by the doorway so there would be an essential escaping distance between us.
"Your dad texted me this morning and apparently he needs me to go and bring some of the stuff you packed this summer and he insisted that he doesn't want you to go with me because of school. My flight is in 4 hours and I already packed a luggage. We have food in the fridge and I also made some cookies but don't eat too much, you're already fat enough." She said with a judgemental look that went all the way from my head to toes. I tried not to cringe.
"Alright mother." I said and went away because the negative vibe was killing me. As I went to my room I literally jumped with excitement! I'm going to be all alone and there won't be a toxic mother anymore! FUCK YES!
I texted Mable and told her about my mother's trip to Ohio and asked her to meet me but she said that she has some stuff she should take care of. I started doing my History homework when my mother said bye to me and left to sit in a cab that would drive her straight to the airport. I instantly went to a supermarket and bought cigarettes. When I went upstairs my phone ringed.
"Hello?" I picked up.
"Sagie! I've heard that mom's taking a trip to Ohio!" Sierra, my sister, said.
"Sierra!" I said excitedly and took a bite out of my cookie.
"So is that true?" She asked.
"Yeah she just left! So what's up?" I asked. My sister is the sweetest person on earth and practically the only person who can tolerate my mom for hours on end.
"Not much! I just came back from a trip to Italy with Jackson." She said. Jackson is my sister's boyfriend/future husband. Mom and dad don't know about them yet but ofcourse she told me everything about them!
"Wow that sounds like fun!" I said excitedly.
"It was! Okay anyways, please be careful! Don't eat too much junk food and don't get drunk!" She said worriedly.
"Yea yeah I knowww." I drawled the knowww because I was not planning on getting drunk anyways. It just seems too risky while my mom's not here plus I'm going to be 18 in December which is like two months away so I'm practically underage.
"Alright. I better go because I have some unpacking to do. Take care and call me whenever you need anything." She said and hung up. It must be nice for her to live in Europe and miles away from our psychotic parents. I sighed and went to check out my instagram.
ACE: What's up?
My heart started beating faster than normal but I tried to calm down. HE DOESN'T DESERVE IT. My voice of reason screamed. I nodded in agreement.
SAGE: Not much. My mom's out of town.
ACE: Do you want to meet up?
I took a while to reply because I seriously didn't know what to say. Does this mean he wants to date me?
SAGE: As a date?
ACE: No.
I sighed in relief but a tang of disappointment hit me and I tried to ignore it. This is for the best. We should stay friends.
SAGE: Thank god. I'll let you know.
ACE: Tell me now.
I smiled and locked my phone. Seems like I found myself an amazing game to play.
