"What makes you think like that?" I asked with wide eyes because I couldn't believe that Ace likes me. It's just too awkward. I don't like Ace. He's so cold and stubborn and too egoistic for me.
"Well...the only thing he said after watching the video was this.." Mable handed me my phone with a sad expression. I saw the message.
ACE: Look at Sage's face:)
My heart dropped and I looked at Mable again.
"This doesn't mean anything babe. He is probably making fun of my silly expression." I said with a laugh and tried not to sound nervous. If Ace likes me, I would literally smack him.
"Sage don't be stupid. We both know he finds you interesting which is why he wanted to follow you and not me." She said with a sad smile.
"Mabe, I. DO. NOT. LIKE. HIM." I said with a stern voice and started packing my stuff because I really need a cigarette at this point. THIS is exactly why I hate guys. They usually come between friends and I really hate situations like this because I value friendships more than guys. We started walking towards our spot and I immediately lit up a cigarette.
"So what're you gonna do?" Mable asked me and I looked at her.
"What should I do?" I said with a hysterical laugh.
"Well I think you should go for it!" Mable said.
"I uh...No Mabe. I like Asher." I said but deep down I knew that I also found Ace interesting. My voice of reason tried to shut me up.
"Oh come on Sage! For God's sake! Asher doesn't have feelings for you. It's so obvious!" Mable said.
"No it's not! He's just needs to figure out himself before being able to commit to someone new." I said and took a nervous drag.
"We both know that's not true AND Asher likes Sadie!" Mable said and instantly put her hand over her mouth. I tried to process her words but they were so hazy. Asher likes...Sadie. He's been lying to me the whole time. Oh my god.
"How'd you know" I asked.
"Sadie told me." Mable said. For fuck's sake! Sadie told her but she didn't tell me while she knew how much I like Asher!
"Whatever Mable. He can go fuck himself and see if I care!" I said angrily.
"Sage don't be mad at me please! Sadie made me swear not to tell you because she thought it will hurt you!" Mable exclaimed.
"Whatever." I said. But it was not whatever. I could feel my eyes sting because of unshed tears but I held them in because no one deserves to see me cry except my precious cat. My nose started running. A bad habit of mine. If I don't cry, my nose will start running.
"You know...you can actually seduce Ace and see if Asher will get jealous. Maybe he'll realize what he's been missing." Mable said.
"Mabe, I don't want to think about either of them right now." I said and put out my cigarette. I never smoke a whole cigarette. I usually put it out when one third of it is still waiting to be used. After a while I said bye to Mable and went to my German class.
