"Nice house." Ace said as he walked in. He looked at me and his eyes widened.

"What? Haven't seen a natural girl before?" I asked as I rolled my eyes.

"Not really. I've got to say, nice outfit." He said and chuckled.

"Meh." I said and gestured for him to follow me towards the balcony.

"Don't you want to show me your room?" He arched an eyebrow.

"No." I said firmly and continued my way towards the balcony while grabbing my cigarettes along the way, which were in my jacket.

"Why?" He asked as he followed me and I opened the balcony's door and went inside, sitting on my favorite vintage chair infront of our white and round coffee table.

"Because my room is my personal space and it is too vulnerable for me to share it with a stranger." I said and lit up a cigarette.

"Fine." He said and shook his head.

"What do you want to listen to?" I asked and connected my phone to our speaker via bluetooth.

"Coldplay." He said.

"Wow. I thought you only listen to techno." I said and looked for Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay.

"I love Coldplay too. Play Sky Full of Stars." He said and I willed myself to not smile because I exactly knew he would want me to play that.

"On it." I pushed play and the beautiful voice of Chris Martin started blasting through the speaker. We listened to music for a while. Ace took a cigarette from my pack and joined me.

"You know, I have Coldplay's album." I said. He smiled and I went into my room to grab the album and show it to him. My room is artistic. It's full of books and albums and there is a LED light stuck to my shelves which brings out my rock and roll/alternative phonograph records. The walls are painted blue which is my second favorite color besides black. My bed is fully white except the headboard which is dark brown. I begged my dad to put blue LED lights inside of the free spaces on the roof and he couldn't stand my pouty face and glistening eyes so he did it. After I found the album I was looking for, I went back to Ace and showed it to him.

"Vintage." He said and took the album from me. We talked about albums and Coldplay for a while and I told him about Sadie.

"Coldplay reminds me of Sierra because when she was in Ohio with me, she always took me on long drives and we listened to Coldplay on repeat. It was so nice of her to do that because our parents were on the verge of separation and my sister was my only hope." I said.

"How old is she?" He asked.

"28. We're ten years apart." I said.

"Nice." He said.

"You don't have sibs?" I asked. His face faltered again. I assumed that it was hard for him to talk about his family because each time I mentioned them, he became hard to reach.

"No." He said in a firm tone and I decided to drop it. He was not directly showing his pain but I could feel it because of my empathetic ass. We went inside when it got a bit chilly, the weather was adjusting itself to the fall season and the temperature was dropping as days went by. It was weird how comfortable I felt with Ace although he was the only guy who crossed my "no boys in the house" border. It was so easy with him as if I've known for so long and him being in my personal space was a habit of ours. I sat on the couch and gestured for Ace to sit with me. Pixie was sleeping in my room so luckily she didn't disturb us. The last thing I want is for Ace to see my baby.

"My ex texted me." Ace chuckled as he sat on the couch.

"What's she saying?" I got excited.

"She's arguing about her not cheating on me. Pathetic." He said and shook his head. I looked at his phone and read the text message which I should admit, were pretty pathetic and childlish. I saw that Ace put some laugh emojis.

"Nooo. Don't send that you idiot!" I exclaimed and took his phone from him, deleting the laugh emojis.

"Give me my phone!" Ace said and jumped to catch his phone.

"No! You're being childlish like her! Let me answer her." I said.

"Fine." Ace sat back and crossed his arms. I balanced his phone between my fingers and typed.

AMANDA: NO! You don't have the right to type or answer me! I only texted you because you don't let me talk! I didn't cheat on you. I only went to see him because he's my friend and if you don't want to believe that it is your decision and not my fault!

ACE: You're being childlish. Whenever you feel like talking like an adult hmu and I might answer you but right now you're just being pathetic without taking my feelings into consideration. Later.

I gave Ace his phone back and he looked at the text and smiled.

"Nice touch." He said.

"That's what you say to the best." I said and smiled. Ace turned off his phone and stared at me. I felt the temperature of the room rising. The chemistry was flying to the roof and I couldn't stop blushing. His eyes were staring into my eyes, deep into my soul and then they went to my lips on repeat. We got closer and I felt my insides melting. The butterflies in my stomach were going berzerk while my heart was pounding so hard I could hear it in my ears. We were inches away from kissing when I realized what I was doing and stopped.

"You should go. It's getting late." I said and instantly stood up. Ace looked confused but nodded his head in agreement and stood up, walking towards the door.

"It was nice spending time with you Sage." He said in his usual cold way and walked out without saying goodbye. After I closed the door, I sank to the floor and clutched my heart.

"I'm fucked." I said to the empty living room and tried to shut off my feelings with the power of my logic in order to stop myself from getting into a deep mess knowing too well that if I fall for Ace, it wouldn't end well.
