It was your first day of your third year and you were in a class with a completely new group of people. You were looking forward to making a lot of friends this time around--when you transferred in spring semester last year you missed out since everyone else seemed to have already had their own group. You looked up at your class room, Class 3 - 3. You let out a breath before stepping in, heat rising to your face as you noticed the lesson had already started and everyone--including your sensei--was looking at you. Your eyes darted around the room rapidly, nervous at the being the center of attention like this.
Your eyes suddenly fell on another's--a boy with dark curly hair, thick eyebrows, dark doe eyes and a set of full lips. He quirked his eye brow at you when you held his gaze, though unlike everyone else he had no ounce of judgement in his eyes--just curiosity. This didn't last long before you were shocked out of your stupor by a voice.
"Name?" your sensei said sternly, making you jump and look at him. You saw an expression of pure annoyance on his face, knowing immediately you had already started off on the wrong foot with him.
"(l/n) (f/n)" you said in defeat. He sighed, writing something into a booklet on his podium before addressing you again.
"Nice of you to decide to join us, (l/n). Stand outside the classroom until the class break as I decide the terms of your detention for your lateness. I have zero tolerance for lateness. Do not leave that spot as I will see you."
"Yes sir. Sorry sir." you murmured, bowing in apology as the classroom erupted into a series of giggles. You left the room, your face beet red as you had already managed to screw up so bad on the first day. How did this even happen? You were sure you had more than enough time--I mean you even came to class half an hour earlier than it started to get a good seat! As the thought crossed your mind, suddenly a realization dawned on you. Your eyes widened in shock as you looked at your watch, which you now noticed had been the same time for way longer than it should've been. Yup, your watch was broken and you were late on the first day, having lingered around the campus longer than you should've thinking you had time.
You stood where you were supposed to, your head hanging low until the break arrived. Some students exited the room to get snacks or take a bathroom break. You saw the boy you had noticed before exit with a friend, a boy with much lighter, shorter hair and an air of cheekiness about him. You looked down again, embarrassed at your position.
"(L/N)-san right? Nice entrance back there!" a boy called out to you. You looked up to see the lighter haired boy had addressed you, prompting the darker haired boy to elbow him. "Don't go teasing girls you don't know, dumbass! She's probably having a bad day now because of it."
"Ah such a gentleman so suddenly Mattsun~ Could it be--delinquent girl is your type?" he hummed jokingly.
"Hey, I'm not a delinquent, my watch broke!" you spat, making both boys look at you with wide eyes, before they both broke into laughter.
"That would've been frightening if it didn't come from such a cute looking face!" the shorter boy laughed. "You know what? I like you (l/n)! I'm Hanamaki Takahiro and this tall glass of water is Matsukawa Issei" he winked at his friend, making the other roll his eyes with a goofy smile. "Sit by us whenever sensei let's you come back." Both boys gave you a small wave as they walked away.
Alright, well at least something good came out of this. Hanamaki and Matsukawa, huh? They seem nice, cheeky, but nice.

It was ten minutes after the second half of class was supposed to start--everyone was already in their seats and wondering where their teacher was. The two boys seemed to be the only ones who remembered that you had been out there, exchanging curious looks wondering what might've happened. All the questions were soon answered as the door slid open, the teacher walking in with an angry look, red in the face and a bulging vein across his forehead. You sluggishly followed behind him, face looking desolate as you had just gotten the scolding of your lifetime. The two boys stifled their giggles at your expression, but silently motioned you to sit over by them.
