"Ah hey, you must be the legendary Kageyama Tobio I've heard so many tall tales about" he chuckled remembering all of the wildly overdramatic recounts Oikawa told of their middle school years, most of which were debunked by the ever blunt Iwaizumi. "Nice to meet you, I'm Matsukawa Issei, 3rd year middle blocker for Aoba Johsai." he stated, reaching a polite hand out to the other boy for a handshake.

"....Kageyama Tobio, 1st year setter for Karasuno" he said blankly, hesitantly returning the handshake.

"Well, it was great seeing you today Tobio, I really missed you" you smiled at your friend, "but we gotta head out to work on our assignment now. Let's try to meet up again soon!"

"...Yeah. Bye." he said coldly, turning around and giving a light wave as he took his leave.

"Is he always that grumpy?" Mattsun chuckled.

"Eh it's give or take, I've gotten used to it I guess."

"Well, let's head out then?" he said, pointing his thumb behind him towards the train you were supposed to take. You nodded happily, following the boy onto the train to your destination. You both didn't say much, but it wasn't uncomfortable. You knew this was just to meet up for the class project but something about this meeting felt different than every other time you've spent time with him—maybe it's the informal clothes you both are wearing.

Once both of you stepped out of the train station, you looked up at him to see which way to go—seeing that he was already looking at you and smiling. He blinked a few times before realizing.

"Ah right, I'm the only one who knows where we're going. We gotta go this way" he said, then started heading to the right. You made your way to a large cafe that stuck out like a sore thumb at its bricks were painted white to show off the Sailor Moon mural on the side. You squeaked, asking Mattsun if he could take a quick photo of you with it. He smiled and snapped the shot—definitely Instagram worthy.

When you entered the place your eyes sparkled, looking at all of the cute decor, plushies and anime figurines. They even had posters framed and signed from your favorite mangaka and artists, along with original cels from various 90's anime. You realized you were at a themed cafe, each section of it dedicated to a different genre with decor and artwork to match. Your excitement was radiating off of you, making the taller boy laugh. "What area do you want to sit?"

You scanned the premises to choose a spot but it was pretty difficult since everywhere looked so enticing. "What do you recommend?"

"I've only been here one other time but we went to the horror section, it was pretty cool--but honestly I'm down for anything you want to choose. They even have a magical girl section if you're interested, since you were so excited for the Sailor Moon painting outside."

"It's ok I'm sure we can find a spot we both like~"

He looked at you for a moment before grinning, walking up to the desk and holding up two fingers. Before you could intervene he had paid for both of your tickets, the employee smiling and directing you both over to the magical girl area. The Sailor Moon table was taken so you took a seat at the Madoka Magica one instead, quietly gushing at how beautiful the booth was with the table, tableware and screens resembling the look and props from the show. Mattsun noticed you silently fangirling, making him chuckle. "They do a great job, don't they? You'd think it was straight out of the show."

"You've watched Madoka Magica?"

"Hell yeah! That show was sad as hell, I still feel a little empty inside from it."

A waitress cosplaying Mami approached the table, smiling brightly at the two as she greeted you in character, much to your delight. You complimented her cosplay as she took out her pen which resembled the character's weapons to write down your orders. Damn they really take care to detail here! You thought. She smiled wide and nodded as you ordered a mocha latte with Madoka's design, saying it was super cute and looked just like her friend. She then grimaced when Mattsun had ordered the same drink but with the design of the witch Charlotte--making you both laugh at her character reaction. "Mattsun that's cruel!" you said, smacking his hand. ***
