The morning flew by quickly and before you knew it, it was already lunch. The trio met up with Iwaizumi in the third year hallway and waited for Mattsun to finish using the bathroom before they headed toward the roof to eat again--that was the plan at least.

"Iwa-chan! Makki! Lunch practice, NOW!" Oikawa shouted as he approached the group.

"Ehhhh who are you addressing like this?" Iwaizumi glared at the boy, but surprisingly Oikawa's energy didn't dwindle.

"We're going to destroy my precious kouhai no matter what it takes, I want to crush his spirit before he even gets the chance to consider a real game" Oikawa spoke with a dark look in his eye, surprising both you and Makki but not Iwaizumi.

"Oi, you really are a shitty guy you know?" Iwaizumi muttered before beginning to head in the direction of the gymnasium. "Makki you might as well just come, he's persistent when it comes to dealing with Kageyama so there's no point in arguing" he called out, not looking at the other two.

"Ah, alright" Makki sighed, following the other uninterested in whatever was going on.

"Should I come too?" you asked the brunette.

"Oh no (n/n)-chan, it's ok! Please keep Mattsun company and don't do anything too rough so he's in tip top shape for tomorrow" he winked as  he turned to join his friends.

"E-eh?!" you called out, making the boy snicker as he disappeared around the corner.

Before long Matsukawa came out and was looking around the hallway as he walked over to you to see where the others had went, mildly suspicious they might try to prank him.

"Ah is it just us today then?" Mattsun asked you as you fell in step with him, both on your way to the roof like the day prior.

"Yeah, it seems Oikawa is making all of the boys attend lunch practice aside from you and Yahaba of course. Seems like the Karasuno practice match tomorrow has him kind of on edge."

"Your friend Kageyama is on that team right?"

You nodded.

"That makes sense then, Oikawa always had a very strong one sided competitive relationship with him apparently. I mean I hadn't met the guy until that one day with you but I've heard endlessly about how he feels about him. I think his natural talent hurts his ego a bit." Matsukawa said thoughtfully.

"Well shit, that's a lot of unexpected baggage to add onto a practice match" you couldn't help but laugh, the boy joining at your response.

"I couldn't agree more. Oh that reminds me, I wanted to ask you about that thing you invited us to this weekend--that's with some of Karasuno's team right?"

"Yeah for the most part, I hope that's not weird since you guys are rivals."

"Nah it's cool, we have plenty of friends on other teams. Is...Kageyama going?"

"I don't think so, as far as I know it's just going to be Daichi, Asahi and Suga in terms of Karasuno's players going."

"Daichi, Asahi, Suga...you're on a first name/nickname basis, you must be close?" he asked curiously.
