Chapter Twenty Nine

Xander

As my eyes slowly opened I almost got a heart attack when I saw Kenji's face hovering over me. I groaned lifting my arm and pushing his face away from him before slowly sitting up. I looked around the room spotting Richard in one corner with a cast on his leg and a few bruises decorating his face.

"You were in a far worse condition than me but look at you looking good as new." He chuckled.

"Comes with the genes." I said forcing a smile. "I told you not to come back for me Kenji."

"A thank you would be nice. What happened anyway? We found you torn up you shouldn't even be alive with how much blood you lost."

"Alistair. He said he wasn't going to kill me so I could watch the destruction of every species. Also some bullshit about me being his favourite."

"You are his favourite." Ken pointed out rolling his eyes.

"I know. We need to get back. Mel's in trouble. Carlton's been working for Alistair."

"Alexander," Richard sighed looking down.

"What's wrong?" I asked noticing how they both refused to look me in the eye.

"They have her. Logan called and..." I stopped listening to what he was saying and spaced out. Anger washing over me. I needed to get out of here. I needed to get her. I stood to my feet and was immediately stopped by Kenji grabbing my shoulders.

"Let go." I growled. I could hear myself. My voice sounded inhuman. And it wasn't Xerxes. I could feel him lounging in the back of my mind bouncing with excitement.

"I know you're burning with hate and anger right now. And I know you want to march to where he is and rip him apart. But we don't know where he is and we can't kill him until we kill the demon first." Ken whispered tightening his hold.

"How do we do that?"

"The demon that possessed and bonded with him is a shadow demon. We can defeat it with light. Sunlight won't work on it anymore because it's intertwined itself with your dad over the years the both of them are basically one." He explained.

"We'll need someone that can create light and blast him. Fry the demon out of him."

"Lucian." I sighed slowly starting to calm down.

"Exactly."

"I'm not waiting a whole day for you to call him and for him to get to us." I grumbled sitting back down.

"We called him right before you woke up he should be here soon. He and Adonis are using hell as a shortcut."

"How?" Richard asked.

"Dardanos." I guessed. Kenji nodded.

"Who's that?"

"That's Melaine's father." Kenji said simply. "They should be here soon. I'll go wait for them."

"Your friend Kenji told me that Alistair is your father but he never explained how." Richard said once Ken was gone. "Logan never really explained anything after we had left."

"They're brothers. Twins the way Carlton and I are. When they were younger and my grandfather chose dad to be Alpha and choosing to send Alistair to lead the camp in Russia he grew angry. He felt since he was born he should be the one to take the mantle. Run everything. While there he met a few sketchy supernaturals and started to play around with demon magic. Up until he got possessed by a shadow demon.

My mom was originally his mate. But he was abusive. When she found out she was pregnant she ran away and dad found her. They fell in love and he raised us as his own. He launched his first attack against dad that time he showed up and you had to leave. After that dad decided to tell us the truth. That's when we also discovered I had abilities. They developed over the years but I shoved them down. Ignored them. Tried not to tap into that side of me."

"Denying what and who you are won't help trust me I know son. I had tried to deny who my family was what I was born into. I didn't refuse to learn what they taught. I just made the skills they used for evil be the ones I used for good. Didn't let them define me. And because of that I saved many lives. So don't fight who you are. Embrace it. But use it to save lives not destroy them like your father did."

"Not only do you refuse me the opportunity to finally meet my sister. You go ahead and leave her unprotected and allow her to get captured." Lucian glares once he arrives at the safe house.

"I'm not in the mood Lucian I will snap your neck."

"Once we get her back she's coming with me. I don't care if I have to fight you for her. We both know I'll win." He smirked.

"I wouldn't threaten me if I were you. I'm feeling homicidal so back off." I growled. He smiled and shook his head turning to Richard.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mr Wilson. Do I get to call you dad too?" He joked.

"I don't see why not." Richard laughed.

"Let's get down to it shall we. Kenji and Adonis you guys figure out where Alistair is." I started before getting interrupted.

"You don't get to give my familia orders. Or Mel's either." Luc said.

"Okay I'm sorry I dragged Mel away before you could meet her because I was mad. Can we focus now." I sighed. I knew why he was in a mood. And I knew that's what he's been wanting me to do since he got here. Apologise.

"Apology accepted continue." He smiled.

"We should kill him." Xerxes growled.

"No we can't."

"It's not like he'll be dead forever he'll come back after a few minutes."

We only knew this because I had indeed killed Lucian the first time I met him. He was being an annoying little warlock and I snapped his neck. I was surprised when he woke up ten minutes later looking like he went through metamorphosis like a damn butterfly.

"Richard you'll stay here. You're no exactly in fighting condition."

"The four of us will go after Mel. Lucian your job is to get rid of the demon in Alistair so that Xander can kill him." Ken said.

"You're going to face Alistair just the four of you. Him and his entire pack?" Richard asked in shock.

"We can handle a bunch of overgrown dogs." Adonis said rolling his eyes.

"You're one to talk paw patrol." Ken smirked earning a growl from Don.

"The faster we get Mel the better."
