This chapter is in third person POV. I'm not really good at writing fight scenes but I feel I've gotten a bit better over the years of writing. Enjoy.
..........................
A low-lying cloud rose from the ground. The fog obscures all sight. The four men standing at the edge of the small evacuated town unable to see beyond 5 feet. Meaning the creatures 5 feet away from where they stand have concealment. It's extremely cold. As it always is in Oymyakon. One of the three can feel the cold biting at his skin but he ignores it. He is the only man among his companions.
Hidden by darkness and fog, a man, a phoenix, a hound and demon wolf; wait in anticipation for their foes. For they are here to stop the ending of the world by saving the very weapon meant to bring that end.
On the other side of the darkness, a wolf, a dragon, a phoenix and a demon wolf emerge from the darkness. Only one of them is aware of the group that awaits them. Their mission is to bring about the end of the world with the weapon that stands among them. But first they are here near an abandoned town to kill the man that fathered the demon wolf.
Melaine raises her hand creating a path in the fog like Moses did the red sea and the group moves forward. At the sight of the men waiting for them on the other side they don't react in surprise, a part of them having anticipated some resistance.
"I could ask how you knew I was coming here. But I have an idea. Did my dear brother tell you where your grandfather's been hiding all these years? Or was it your brother son." Alistair smiles.
"Carlton didn't get the chance to say much." Xander growled.
"Ah yes. Congratulations by the way on doing what I could never do, kill the weaker twin."
"I've got Alistair." Xander told his group stepping forward.
"Melaine." Alistair said waving his hand.
Mel glanced at the group in front of her. Three of them had familiar energies. One she tried and failed to recognise, another she felt was linked to hers and the third coming off the boy in black that was watching her, his energy felt like the sun, his was exactly like hers only more pure.
"Kill the hound." She instructed her familia as she rose into the air. She'd have to investigate the three and see why a part of her didn't want them dead. But the hound could die.
"I'm sorry Don." Kenji whispered sadly before his eyes turned white and he shifted into his full dragon form.
His shift was like a button had been pushed and everyone that could shift shifted. She ignored her master as his wolf ran towards the black mutation. She ignored her dragon as it fought the hound. She ignored the human as he dodged the grey wolf they had brought with them, his agility impressive. Her focus was on the golden boy floating in front of her.
"I don't want to hurt or kill you." Lucian said surrounding himself in flames.
"That's too bad. Because I definitely want to hurt you." She retorted doing the same. They charged at each other their fists hitting each other. The contact sent a sonic blast around them that could be heard miles away.
A bullet flew through the air lodging itself into a tree missing the large werewolf that bounded straight for Richard. He got out of its way quickly but not fast enough. One of the creature's claws scratched at his arm making him drop the gun.
Acting quickly he unsheathed the sword his daughter's mate had handed to him before they made. It was made completely of silver. Unlike the black shadowy demon blade he had left in the snow going instead for his new body.
Alistair seeing his son had taken on a new and stronger form shifted back. A spell murmured by Mel had his clothes rematerialising but the distraction had cost her. Xander shifted as well and Luc did the same for him not wanting his friend to fight naked in the harsh Russian winter. He picked up his sword and faced his father.
"I'm going to enjoy killing you." He says watching Alistair conjure a shadowy weapon of his own.
"You won't get the chance."
Taking another hit to his right thigh, Richard yells in pain before rage takes over. As the wolf leaps for him he slides beneath it raising his sword. The momentum of both moving in different directions helps the blade slice cleanly across the animal's stomach.
Drenched in blood and breathing heavily he looks around past the dead body of the werewolf just in time to see his daughter land in the snow on her back. Lucian immediately positioning his knee on her neck holding her down.
"I'm not going to kill you. I don't know what Alistair did to make you go crazy but you have to snap out of it." Lucian said as Richard rushed towards them.
"Get off me." She yelled.
"Mel." Richard starts. "Snap out of it sweetheart."
Closing her eyes the earth around them begins to shake throwing people off balance. She raises a piece of the earth were all three of them are.
"Shit." Lucian says closing his eyes.
He pushes some of his energy into her making her gasp and open her eyes but they're still floating.
"You feel that. You know why that feels familiar. That's because that's you. It's me, Its us Mel."
"Let me go." She says shaking her head. Refusing to listen to him or the voice in her head that for the past two days has been screaming to get out. That is screaming for her to let her out.
"You know that toxic Wuthering Heights quote people keep saying? 'Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.' Well our souls actually are the same. You and I are two halves of one whole. Two parts of one soul. You're my family. You're my sister."
"My family is dead. Alistair killed my family."
"That's not true. That's not true because I'm right here baby girl. Mel look at me." Richard called.
They were getting higher. The higher they went the harder it would be to breathe until they were floating in space.
"Fact or Fiction Mel look at me." Richard demanded. "You're my daughter fact or fiction."
"No." She said shaking her head. She was shaking her body heating up. Lucian hit her with another energy blast earning a cry from her.
"You're my baby girl. My daughter. Fact or fiction."
"Stop." she said weakly.
Richard remembered what Adonis had told them before they had come here when Xander had left on his own.
"We might have to kill her. The second rebirth could be a sort of reset button. But she'll have to be surrounded with Lucian's energy and you'll have to be reminding her of who she is as she dies."
Shakingly pulling out the small blade Lucian had given him earlier he glanced at the boy who sadly nodded his head. Closing his eyes he shoved it into his daughter's chest and removed it before bending down to her ear as the three started to plummet to the ground. He knew the distance they had risen to would cause the fall to kill him. And he closed his eyes holding his daughter and her brother.
"You were the best thing that ever happened to me. You were a blessing I never saw coming. The light I needed in the darkness my family had surrounded me in. You are my daughter. I don't care if it's not by blood. I love you. When you wake up I want you to remember that."
"Daddy?" He heard her choke out before Lucian wrapped his arms around Richard and turned them so he would take the impact he had known what it felt like living without a father. Without a parent. He didn't want his sister to be stripped of the one she already had. But a part of him knew it was pointless. The impact and the death of the two phoenix as they hit the ground caused a blast the size of a small nuclear bomb.
