Note: This story will all be in Y/N's point of view so please keep that in mind *all these characters belong to the original creators of Naruto apart from Y/N*. This chapter is set during your childhood and will be focusing on your meeting with Kakashi. Let's just say you're about eight years old.

It was quite funny how the villagers could change their views on others so quickly. Your clan had been quite well known and praised within the village but one mishap made you the laughing stock of the entire town. At least that's what your father had told you, he was the only clan member left only to be followed by you.

Your mum had died while giving birth since she had an extremely frail body and fragile health. Your dad raised you for a few years before succumbing to his sorrows and unfortunately killing himself. Having no parents meant that the villagers assumed that you were a problem child, and the people who raised you had given you away. The people who knew about your father's unfortunate passing treated you in horrible ways, thinking that his death was caused by you.

It was sad, but you never let it get you down. You were an unlucky soul who simply had been born into a cruel world. A few people accepted you (and by a few, it was only just one), the Hokage for example. While he couldn't exactly raise you, he did his best to keep you happy and healthy as that's 'what your parents would have wanted'. He gave you money for food and brought you gifts on your birthday, he was the closest thing to a father figure you ever had.

You (like any other kid your age) had a dream. It was to become strong enough to prove the villagers who ridiculed you wrong, make your parents proud and restore your clan's name. Accomplishing all of that within your lifetime was a fool's errand but, then again, dreams can only be dreams if they are difficult to achieve.

Having friends wasn't something you prioritized and the children with parents would get dragged away from you anyway so you gave up on that a while ago. You isolated yourself from others to go unnoticed and not get ridiculed by the children whose parents had told them lies. There was one area you would go to get lost within your own world: the swing outside the academy. You didn't care if everyone was looking at you, you didn't care if people were talking about you. The only things you could hear and feel were the wind and the calming movements of the swing.

Unfortunately, trying to live a life unnoticed by others was a difficult feat and you didn't manage to escape everyone's point of view.

"Hey look, it's that quiet orphan. Orphan! Hello! Look at me!" A voice came from what seemed like a few meters away.

It was a familiar voice, very familiar. Being bullied wasn't fun and it's even worse when a boy with some of the lowest grades in the class thinks he can get away with it. He was arrogant and self-centered and had nothing to show for it. His parents were rich so he thought he owned everything he came across, one of those things being you.

You ignored his shrill voice and drowned it out with the sounds of the wind.

"Orphan! Did you not hear me! Are you deaf too!?" he had now approached you and begun yelling in your ear.

"I will be if you don't shut up" you answered.

"And what's a little orphan who's hated by their parents gonna do about it!" He moved even closer to your face.

"Leave me alone,"

"Is that all you can say! I didn't hear you!"

"I said leave me alone!" you yelled right into his face. "What have I ever done to you!? Just let me live my life! Are you targeting me 'cause everyone in this goddamn school hates me more than they hate  you?!"
