"Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made..." (Genesis 3:1)
Xale pounded on the wall, not sure if anyone would hear him or if anyone was on the other side. "Hello? Kayta? Eloise? Is anyone in there?"
"X! Is that you?" a relieved voice cried from the inside. Xale's heart leaped. It was Eloise!
"El! It's me!" Xale cried, relieved.
"Xale! I need help!" Eloise yelled. "Could you burn through some of the wall? Then I'll be able to teleport out."
"Of course," Xale replied, placing his hands against the wall and beginning to burn his way through. "This sure is a thick wall," he commented. Eloise laughed.
"You only need to burn through a little bit. I'll be able to escape after," she said.
"I think I'm almost a quarter through."
"Yay!"
"Nottt sssoo fasssst," a demon hissed. Xale's eyes widened and he turned around, his hands not leaving the wall, still burning it through. Sure enough, a demon had found him.
"Oh no you don't," Xale exclaimed, pulling out his lava gauntlet. Using it with one hand was tricky, but he managed to shoot the demon a couple times.
"That's enough, X!" Eloise cried through the wall. Xale grabbed the gauntlet with both of his hands and focused on the demon, hitting it with more accuracy. But the demon was definitely stronger than some of the other ones.
"Youu'll be brainnwassshhedd sssoonn," the demon grinned.
Eloise suddenly appeared next to Xale. She released her breath and grabbed Xale's warm hand. He looked down at their hands, confused.
"I'm gonna get us out of here, okay?" she whispered. "Just hold on,"
"Okay," he breathed.
"We'll usee youuu againnssst yourrr friennddsss." It slithered closer.
"Uh, no you won't! Goodbye!" Xale singsonged, tightening his grip on Eloise's hand as she gulped. She closed her eyes and began the teleportation process.
"Ohhh yesss wee will," the demon smiled evilly, flying towards the two of them, grabbing Xale just as Eloise teleported away. She felt his hand leave hers and she opened her eyes.
"No! Xale!" she screamed.

"What do we do?" Kayta asked.
"Youuu'ree commingg withh usss," a voice hissed behind them.
They turned around, only to see a group of demons slithering towards them.
"Uh oh," Ley muttered.
"Stand back," Kayta warned.
"What?"
Kayta flung her hands out in front of her and knocked the bars from the walls down. She ripped the door from its hinges and flung it at the demons.
"Run!"
The two of them took off, running up and down the maze of hallways in the dungeon.
"You're getting good at that!" Ley called.
"Less talking, more running!" Kayta scolded.
They stopped short, reaching a dead end.
"What now?" he asked.
"Look!" Kayta pointed at a pulley system down the hall. "It's an elevator!"
Ley looked down into the small wooden crate. "No it's not, this is so small!"
"Get in, I'll pull you up."
"No, you get in, I don't want you-"
"Weee havee youu noww," the demons hissed, rounding the corner and slowly approaching them.
Without giving any warning, Kayta lifted Ley up telekinetically and dumped him into the crate, then used her powers to pull down on the ropes.
"Wait, what are you- Kayta!!!!!" Ley yelled as she disappeared from his view.
Kayta then turned around to face the demons, who seemed to have multiplied.
"Whhhatt a pretty littleeee sacrificccee," one of them hissed. "Weee cann brainnwashhh youuu firsssst."
A/N A little short but that's ok, heh heh.
