I lean against the outside of North's workshop, hair tickling my face. The moon is the only light I can see, giving me a chance to relax my shoulders and sit in the snow.
"Chrissy, are you sure this is the plan you want to go with..?" Manny asks.
I slump forward as I let the air out of my chest. "What choice do I have? I might risk everyone getting hurt, but it's for the sake of the children." I answer.
The wind blows around me almost comfortingly and I lean back against the wall.
"You're doing the right thing." Manny tells me.
"Chrissy?" Cupid's voice barely carries in the wind.
"Over here." I call.
Cupid rounds the corner of the workshop, blanket wrapped around him so tightly he appears to have no wings.
"Chrissy, we need to talk." He says, looking anywhere but at me.
I look up at Manny who, if he was a person, I swear just winked at me. The wind helps me stand up, flipping my hood up in the process.
"Let's go back inside." I tell him.
Cupid nods, somehow tugging the blanket tighter around himself. The walk back inside the worship is silent, neither of us quite knowing what to say. As we reach an empty lounge room, I tug my hood back down. Cupid and I settle down on opposite sides of the couch.
"So.." I break the silence.
Cupid sighs, looking as if he's aged a hundred years in the past two hours since we all were together.
"Chrissy, I'm sorry. We had just started trying to figure out us, and then I go talking about how I almost married the girl who is tormenting you. I should have told you when I first found out it was Violet - no, I should have told you when we first met. I just didn't... I never thought she'd ever come back." Cupid tells me.
I play with the strings of my hoodie. "You couldn't have known." I assure him.
"No, but you still deserved to know. Chrissy, I've liked you since the moment we met. I was just a coward. I thought, maybe, if you knew of my past, you wouldn't see me the same way." Cupid says.
"How could I blame you for falling in love? You of all people deserve to. I would never be mad about that."
The blanket around Cupid sags as he let's out a deep breath. "Chrissy, I really do like you. I've had time to move on from Violet, a lot of time. And now, I can't imagine not having you in my life."
I feel the tension leave my shoulders as a smile grows on my face. I look over at Cupid to see him already looking at me.
"I really like you too, Cupid." I tell him.
Cupid grins, leaning forward to pull me into his chest. I close my eyes as I feel him press a kiss into my hair.

"Ok, so what you have to do is-" Jack gets cut off by his sled moving forward. "Chrissy!" He shouts, grabbing onto the rope as his sled flies down the hill.
I laugh, getting onto my own sled and pushing off. Jack waits at the bottom of the hill, pout on his face but mischief in his eyes.
"That's how it's going to be, huh?" Jack asks as I start to slow down.
I furrow my brows before realizing he froze the ground, sending me farther in the field towards the lake.
"Jack!" I shout, laughing.
My sled stops a few feet in front of the lake, sinking into the snow. I huff as Jack lands next to me, the wind blowing snow into my face.
"You started it." He says.
I roll my eyes at him, standing up. "And you're supposed to be older." I point out.
"We're twins, I don't think that applies here." Jack states.
I stand up, pulling my sled out of the snow with me. "That may be, but you're still older. I died first, meaning you lived longer than I did even without those few minutes." I point out.
Jack goes quiet, staring at me in a strange way.
"What? Do I have something on my face?" I ask, rubbing my sleeve across my cheek.
"No, its not that. It's just... I fell into a frozen lake to save Mary, I know I would have done anything for her. So I just can't understand why I let you stay behind." He tells me.
I sigh, letting go of my sled and grabbing Jack by the shoulders. "Jack, you didn't let me stay behind, I made you go. We both would've done anything for Mary and that meant you had to get her away while I tried to distract the hunters because if by chance I couldn't, you could at least hold your own against them." I tell him.
Jack sighs, pulling me into a hug. "You're right. We did what we had to do."
We stay like that for a couple minutes before I push Jack into the snow.
"Wha-"
"That's for earlier! Catch me if you can!" I shout, taking off into the air.
❄️🌑❄️🌑❄️🌑
I sit in a lounge off of the workshop, drawing random pictures in frost on the table in front of me. I ignore the feeling of my legs falling asleep beneath me, leaning farther forward to add more detail to the cake I made.
"Chrissy!" A high pitched voice squeals before I'm surrounded by arms covered in feathers.
"Hello to you too, Tooth." I laugh while hugging her back.
"We haven't had a chance to hang out. Let's change that!" Tooth says.
I shrug, unfolding my legs. "What do you want to do?" I ask her.
Tooth grins. "Tell me about you and Cupid!" She suggests.
I feel my cheeks warm as I look away from her and at my frost drawings. "What is there to say?"
"Oh come on. I know two love birds when I see them." She teases.
I bury my chin into my hoodie collar, feeling my face warm even more. "Well, we aren't exactly together. We've both admitted we like each other and we've kissed, but we haven't labeled it." I tell her.
"Oh sweetie, you need to talk to him about that. You don't want to not know where you stand with him. You especially don't want to be giving more than you're getting." She tells me.
I sigh, nodding. "I know, its just that with everything that's been going on lately, it's hard to get a moment alone or even to think about being in a relationship."
Tooth sits down next to me and wraps her arm around my shoulder. "Chrissy, your feelings are just as important as what is going on around you. You can't ignore yourself for the sake of others."
I shrug, leaning into her.
"I know, how about you tell me how you too first met?" She suggests.
I feel my face pull into a smile at the memory. "It was a long time ago. I was still new to this whole spirit thing.."
