Chapter 6 - News Flash

MacKenzie's POV

Last Night...

Caitlin had went to get me new blanket from the closet while I took a shower 

I looked at myself in the mirror

I remembered the events from the night...

And I cried...

This Morning...

"Alright, Mack, breakfast is served." Caitlin says, putting down a plate of pancakes in front of me with a glass of orange juice

"Thanks." I say, grabbing my fork and cutting the pancakes

Caitlin sits down across from me at the table with a pancake and a bowl of fruit

"Thanks for letting me stay here." I tell her

"My door is always open." Caitlin says. "You can stay as long as you like."

I smile but I look exhausted

I look down at my plate, moving the pieces of pancake I had cut around the plate

I tug on the sleeve of the oversized hoodie I'm wearing -- one of Ronnie's college hoodie

"I'm surprised you still have this." I say

Caitlin looks at me and sees that I'm referring to the hoodie

"I still love him." Caitlin whispers

"Me too." I say

Caitlin receives a text and she grabs her phone

"Sherloque wants us at STAR Labs." Caitlin says

"Okay." I say. "Just let me get dressed real quick."

I stand up, taking Ronnie's hoodie off and placing it onto the couch for Caitlin

I walk into the spare bedroom in Caitlin's apartment and go to the closet

Since I used to bounce around a lot between Caitlin's, Barry's, Cisco's, and Joe's, I basically have a room and clothes in each place

And I don't grow very much so even if I haven't been to Cisco's in years, the clothes still fit

Anyways, I take out a pair of my overalls from the closet, grabbing a purple shirt to go under it, and a pair of converse sneakers

Once I'm ready, I walk back out to Caitlin

She's cleaning up

"Do you want to finish your food?" Caitlin asks me

"Uh, no, I'm good." I tell her. "I'm not really hungry."

"Okay." Caitlin says. "Let's go."
