Chapter 31 - Time Bomb

MacKenzie's POV

I re-shoulder my backpack as we finish another conversation with a hospital staff member. Nora, Cecile and I walk down the hall and stop upon hearing Barry and Joe talking to another doctor

"And Dr. Ambres never talked about her relationship with Orlin Dwyer?" Joe asks

"She never really talked about anything." The doctor says. "After her fiancé died, she wasn't quite the same."

"How so?" Barry asks

"Angry." The doctor says. "Withdrawn. Only time she seemed happy was when she was with that girl in the coma."

"Can you think of anything that might help us find Dwyer?" Joe asks

"I'm sorry, Detective." The doctor says

Cecile gives Joe a look

"Okay, if you come up with anything, would you give me a call, please?" Joe says, giving her a card

"Thank you." The doctor says, leaving

We all group in the hallway

"Somebody's gotta know something." Barry says

"Everyone we've talked to is telling the truth." Cecile says. "I think Ambres was the only one working with Dwyer."

"Well, look, we'll pore over the files at CCPD." Joe says. "Maybe we missed something. We'll let you know if we come up with anything, all right?"

Cecile and Joe leave

I watch Nora look around nervously

"You okay?" Barry asks

"I just, uh... don't know what to do." Nora says

"Yeah, me neither." Barry says. "We've hit walls before, though. We'll figure it out."

Barry looks around

I grab Nora's hand and give her a reassuring nod

"So it's here and it's in the Starchives at the same time?" Nora asks as we arrive in the woods

I walk over to the time sphere, looking at the design of it

"Somebody stole the plans and made a duplicate?" Barry asks

"Not exactly." Sherloque says

"Guys, cue up Operation: Shazam." Cisco sasy through the phone

Cisco holds the phone out so we can see what Iris is doing

"Ready." Iris says

Iris uses a tool and starts scratching the time sphere at her location

"One scratch on two different Time Spheres." Nora says

"No..." I say. " One scratch on one Time Sphere."

"That's impossible... unless..." Nora trails off

"Unless it's the same one." Barry says

"It is the same one." Cisco says

"He's right." I say, turning to face them. "I know our design anywhere. This is our Time Sphere."

"Which shows up here at the same time that someone who looks like Cicada kidnaps Orlin Dwyer." Sherloque says. "It's not a coincidence."

"So whoever kidnapped Dwyer..." Nora trails off

"Is the Cicada from the future." Barry finishes
