~Maeve's POV~

On Monday morning, things were still incredibly tense and awkward between Jase and I. After what Luke had said to him, he'd hardly even been able to look at me, let alone speak to me.

That's why I didn't even bother stopping him when he turned on the radio as I drove us to school, which I usually always stopped him from doing. I just didn't have the guts to this time because I was a little bit confused. I wasn't able to tell if he was upset or angry or what. Normally it was very obvious what he was thinking or feeling, but this time I couldn't get a read on him at all. So, I just left him alone, not wanting to possibly make things worse.

When we arrived at school, Jase got out and practically ran away from me, making me frown as I stared after him. I didn't know what to do about this new behavior of his. It was maybe even more unnerving than the way he used to act. Did I need to apologize or something? I shook my head to myself and immediately dismissed that idea, not wanting to entertain it for even a split second. I didn't owe Jase any sort of apology, simply because I'd done nothing wrong.

After I straightened out my grey floral dress and made sure my white undershirt didn't roll up my arms, I headed inside the building, my white converse gently thumping against the ground. I looked around the school for Luke, aimlessly wandering for a bit, before I found him hiding out next to a vending machine, sitting by himself on the floor while he read a book. I'd thought he'd be in the cafeteria at first, since that's where he always was in the morning, but I saw he wasn't there today.

I couldn't help but to smile to myself as I stood in front of him and gently knocked my shoe against his leg, trying to get his attention. He grunted in annoyance and didn't even look up. "Fuck off, I don't wanna talk or fuck." He said flatly, making me raise my brows in surprise. I gently kicked him again and he made another noise of frustration, slamming his book shut. "Don't you know when someone wants you to g—" He looked up with an irritated expression that quickly disappeared when he realized it was just me. "Maeve!" He grinned up at me and gently grabbed the back of my thigh, carefully pulling me down into his lap. The book was tossed next to us on the floor.

"That was a rather rude thing to say to someone, you know." I teased, pushing a few stray curls back as I smiled at him. His cheeks flushed pink in embarrassment. "I promise I didn't know it was you. Thought that it was someone else, blondie." He pouted, and I giggled. Despite the fact that he was friends with nobody in this school but me, he'd grown to be very popular. Lots of people wanted to be his friend and he just dismissed them all. According to him, he didn't feel like he needed more friends because he had me, Calum, Ashton, and Michael. And I was fine with that, so I never bugged him about making more friends.

"I missed you." I said softly as I scooted closer to him, leaning my body into his. He smiled and boldly grabbed my butt, squeezing it. "I missed you too." He snickered as I shooed his hand off my behind, embarrassed. There wasn't really anyone in the hallway right now, but someone could still walk by and see, easily.

"Hey, Luke?" I asked, my mind wandering back to the thought of Jase again. He hummed questioningly and played with my hair, running his fingers through it. "What's up?" He muttered. I paused for a moment, hesitating to ask the question that had been on my mind since yesterday. It seemed a little stupid, even to me. "Do you think I should apologize to Jase? I mean, he's my brother and I never even told him that you and I started dating...he's probably mad at me because he had to find out the way that he did." I sighed, furrowing my brows in thought.

Luke tensed and held me tighter to his chest, frowning. "Fuck no, you shouldn't apologize to him, Maeve." He scoffed and shook his head. "I know this sounds harsh and I'm sorry, but Jase only got mad because he thought you'd go crawling back to Nicolai eventually. I've heard them talking about it. You have no idea how many times your shithead of a brother has sworn to Nicolai that you'll go back to him once you thought there wasn't anyone better for you." He said, and my heart dropped into my stomach. It wasn't surprising to hear, but it still hurt me.

"And now...Well, now he knows you're with someone bigger and better." He teased, the stupid innuendo making me giggle softly.

The small smile remained on his face as he twirled a strand of my hair around his index finger. "You deserve to be treated and loved the way you deserve, Maeve. If anything, he should apologize to you." He added softly, and I couldn't help but to smile at him, pressing myself into his warm chest more. "You're so nice. I love you." I mumbled into his shirt, clutching him tightly. He let out a little chuckle and shifted his hips beneath me, kissing my forehead gently before rested his cheek on top of my head and spoke so softly that only I could hear.

"You know I love you too, but you should really be careful. I wasn't joking when I told you it turns me on when you get affectionate."

Luke grabbed me as we walked down the hallway, heading towards the cafeteria for lunch. I giggled softly as he clung to me, pouting as he forced me to lag behind everyone walking so we were alone in the hall. "Stop! I'm hungry, Luke." I said, but there was a smile on my face as his hands wandered my waist and down to my hips.

He chuckled and ducked his head down so his chin was on my shoulder, holding me from behind. "I'm hungry, too, but not for food." He said playfully, his hands wandering down to play with the hem of my dress, trying to slip up the bottom of it. My cheeks warmed in embarrassment as I quickly swatted his hands off. "We're in the hallway, Luke...Anyone could see." I scolded softly, turning around in his arms to face him. He hummed and pulled me against him, squeezing my backside in his hands without even a care in the world. "So what? They can also look away." He muttered, ducking down to kiss my lips.

I giggled against his lips and reached up, locking my arms around his neck as I began to kiss him back. He squeezed my hips and kissed me deeply, holding me so tightly that my dress bunched up under his fingers. My body warmed as his tongue gently teased my lips, asking for entrance, and I opened my mouth. His tongue slipped in and softly stroked against mine, making me moan softly before my fingers tangled into his soft curls. "We should get to the cafeteria." I gasped as his lips broke away from mine, trailing wet kisses down my neck.

Ignoring my words, he gently pushed me back until my back hit a wall, my nipples hardening as he pressed up against me. I just about moaned when he sucked my earlobe, nibbling it playfully. "I want you around my cock again, blondie." He confessed in a murmur, his voice husky in my ear.

My cheeks warmed and I felt a familiar wetness gathering between my thighs. "N-Now?" I squeaked, tilting my head back to peer up at him with wide eyes. He smirked and trailed his hands down to my butt, squeezing large handfuls of my backside. "Right now." He affirmed, giving a little nod. I bit my lip and seriously pondered it for a moment, playing with the fabric of his shirt. "But where?" I asked softly, unsure. I mean, I didn't want to risk us getting caught. He hummed and kept squeezing my butt, pushing me right up against him. "Your car, or mine?" He murmured. I nibbled my lip. "Yours." I decided quietly.

A wicked grin formed on his lips and he began to drag me out of the building, heading towards his car.
