Over the course of the next few days, Mistress Veronika guided us very closely with the new techniques she had obtained for our benefit. Thanks to my late-night excursions with Elion, I was able to pick up on new skills very quickly. Nonetheless, I was still quite far from breaking down the impeccable defense of my sparring partner—but that was a good goal to work towards for the meantime; it gave me a sense of purpose.
It was the third day since training had begun under Mistress Veronika. As I was trudging through yet another dream of my past life, a loud bang startled me awake. The earth beneath me began to shake...even collapsing.
I gasped and scrambled to sit up. Mistress Veronika bolted up before me, grabbing both me and Erenol as she speared out of the tent...and out of danger's way as well. I was not even properly awake. There were crusts in my eyes, and my curly hair was in a tangled mess. Nonetheless, my heart had already run a marathon twice around the whole temple grounds.
"What the heck?" I whispered. I was set down to the ground—which had cracked open. The rubble beneath my feet was quick to give in under my weight.
"Be careful," Mistress Veronika said.
Had an earthquake occurred overnight?
Erenol was quite groggy still. But having been yanked off like a rag-doll, she was no less awake than I was. "W-what happened?" she asked.
Mistress Veronika kneeled before Erenol. As I gazed at my close friend of six years more closely, I felt the energies around her to be unstable. The ripe energy that was distinct of the dragon Raki circled about her. My jaw dropped.
"As I thought..." Mistress Veronika whispered. "You have started your awakening, Erenol. We'll have to be careful in case your element acts up again."
Erenol's face flushed. "My element finally appears?" A wide smile appeared on her face.
Though I wanted to be happy for her, the adrenalin rush I felt upon the incident did not put me in the mood to be in a good mood. So I collapsed on the ground, a headache marching its way between my brows, as I let out a deep breath to calm myself down.
"That seems so," Mistress Veronika said with a smile. "You're quite a late bloomer, but it's better late than never, right?"
Erenol nodded.
"Still..." she looked up. "I would have to apologize to our neighbors. Come around with me later, Erenol."
"O-okay, mistress."
I rubbed my eyes and sprawled on the ground tiredly. The adrenalin had now passed, and I felt a sudden rush of fatigue.

Days passed in a flash.
In the Loser's Tournament, Morning Glory won against Northern Breeze and Lone Wolf against Honey Beast. With the results, two competitors were eliminated from the tournament—those being Northern Breeze and Honey Beast, specifically. Considering how Honey Beast, who I had contended against first, was among the first two to get defeated, that should say something about his capability.
