Chapter 6

Taehyung

"So, Captain Kim gave us a warning that if we ever get careless like that again, they'll give us desk job," I said as I threw myself on my beloved chair while sighing. I then looked in front of me to Jihyun who was acting sort of awkward. "I'm sorry for kissing you like that. I did it on a whim."


"Well that was awkward."

"Also, I'm sorry for calling you a coward, Jihyun. I was really mad at Sojin and I couldn't believe I did that to you."

"Yeah, you were quite a jerk earlier."

I pursed my lips as I felt so guilty about it. I dragged my chair to her desk and held both of her hands. "Jihyun, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to demean what you've been feeling ever since the incident happened. Please know that I will never do that again and push you to do something that you're clearly not ready for."

Surprisingly, she chuckled. "Well, thanks to your little prank, I came to a realization of how much I've missed having romantic kisses with a guy," she said, "so maybe I want to try getting back into the game."


Hearing that made me widen my smile. "Really?"

"I called Jungkook earlier and changed my mind about the dinner."

"Woah, so you're gonna go out with him tonight?" I asked and she nodded. "I know that he's a bit of a player but he seems to actually like you."


"Well, if he doesn't, you're the one to blame," she said, causing me to chuckle.

Not long after that, Jungkook approached us and put on his usual bunny smile. "Hey, guys," he greeted before turning to Jihyun. "You ready to go?"

"Yeah, let me just grab my things," she said before she headed to her locker across the room.
I then turned to Jungkook and knuckled him on the shoulder. "Way to go, man," I said. "I think this is the first time Jihyun's going to a serious date with a guy."

He chuckled. "Yeah. I'm looking forward to it."

"You better treat her well, man."

Jungkook raised an eyebrow while chuckling. "As a best friend, you seem awfully protective toward her," he said. "I mean, if you like her I can back off."

"Me? Like her? No, no. I'm just a very close friend of hers," I said. "Jihyun has an awful past. I just don't want her to get hurt."


Jihyun came back with her purse and her coat and said, "Alright. I'm ready."

"You two go have fun, alright."

She smiled and smacked my arm. "You," she said, pointing her finger at me. "Tomorrow I don't want to hear that you're still fighting with Sojin. If you really like her, go talk to her or something."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," I said. "Just go and have fun. Don't worry about me."

"Okay, we'll be going now."

"See ya, man."

I then stared at their backs until they were gone through the elevator. Well, wouldn't this be interesting?

"Bro, when will you stop coming over here unannounced like this just for taking my breakfast?"

I turned around with bread crumbs all over my mouth to see Jihyun approaching me with a sleep robe and a puffy face.

"Well good morning, Jung Jihyun, and thanks, you're the best," I said before turning to Jungkook who just came out of her room. "Oh, hey, Kook. I didn't know you were staying over."

"Yeah. We agreed that we would take things slow if we wanted this to work out," he said, "but too much wine kind of ruined our agreement."

"You could've told me that you had company," I said to Jihyun. "Now I feel like third-wheeling you guys."

She chuckled. "How should I know that you're in my apartment first thing in the morning?"

"No worries, man," Jungkook said. "You're our friend. I don't mind having you here."

Well, I'd been here as many times as I remember where as you'd only been here twice, but yeah you wouldn't mind having me here, I guess.

Not long after that, my phone beeped. "Bro, it's my CI," I said to Jihyun. "They're telling me where Jaehyung's heading to. Put on some clothes and let's go."

She widened her eyes. "So early in the morning like this?! I haven't even showered."

"Oh who cares? It'll just me in the car," I said as I grabbed my coat. "Now let's go!"
