"Good job on the drug dealer case, Detective Jung and Detective Kim," Captain Kim said with a smile on his face. "Paperwork on my desk by tomorrow."

Both of us nodded before started high-fiving each other.

"See? I told you we'd make a superb team!"

"Ugh, I'm so jealous of you guys," Chaeyeon said. "I'm stuck with freaking Kim Seokjin."

I chuckled. "Why are you mad? He's the hottie in the precinct. I'd kill to partner up with him."

"Oh believe me you'll regret saying that," she said. "He's so annoying and he leaves all the paperwork to me!"

"Yah, Park Chaeyeon! I'm going home now. You deal with the paperwork," Seokjin yelled out from afar before heading toward the exit, causing Chaeyeon to roll her eyes and look at me with that 'do you see what I mean' face.

I giggled. "Well, just don't do the paperwork. Leave it on his desk and if Captain Kim asks, tell him that it's supposed to be Seokjin's job to do it," I said as I packed my things.

Taehyung saw me grabbing my bag and my coat, then he stopped me. "Woah, woah. Where are you going?"

"Um, home?"

"At this hour?" he said. "Come on, grandma. Let's party a little."

"Party?" I said while chuckling. "Taehyung, it's late. I'd rather staying in while being comforted by a glass of wine."

He sighed. "Alright, fine. I wasn't supposed to tell you this," he said, "but my friend has some sort of a crush on you. I was going to drag you to the bar downtown to set you up with a date with him."

I burst into laughter when I heard him. "You're kidding me!"

"I'm dead serious! He's basically obsessed with you," he said, "and I thought I could return you the favor after you gave me Sojin's number. I mean, he's really good looking and nice, you'll like him!"

I scoffed. "Oh, you're such a doof," I said while messing his hair. "Okay, I'm in. Should we go now?"

"Yo, Jungkook my man!" Taehyung yelled out as he greeted this guy that I must say look really attractive and manly.

Well, I guess this set up wasn't that bad after all. Nice job, Kim Taehyung.

"Hey, you must be Jung Jihyun," this guy said with his cute bunny smile. "I'm Jeon Jungkook. Nice to meet you."

I looked over his shoulder, noticing that Taehyung had a smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes quietly and mouthed him 'thank you'. He then patted Jungkook's back and excused himself from the scene.

"Sir, can we have some scotch neat please? Thanks," I said to the bartender.

"A scotch lady huh? Respect," Jungkook said, causing me to chuckle.

"Yeah, it's my go to drink," I said. "So, Mr. Jeon Jungkook, tell me a bit about yourself."

He furrowed his eyebrows, seeming that he was thinking of what things he should tell me.

"Well, to start off I work in the film industry as a full time movie director. You may have seen some of my work on the big screen but I'm nowhere near Bong Joonho."

"That's so cool!" I exclaimed. "Did you go to a film school here?"

"I was born and raised in Busan, but then I studied filming in New York before coming to Seoul to work," he explained. "I started my career as an intern and that was some of the worst times I've had in life. After that, I was promoted to be an assistant of a film editor before making my way to director."

Listening to his stories fascinated me somehow. His life sounded so interesting and alive meanwhile mine's boring and dull.

"You must not have a single boring day, am I right?" I asked, making him chuckle.

"It does sound cool and fun when you hear someone working in the film industry," he said, "but it's not all rainbow and sunshine. The industry has its dark side, just like any other job."

"Well, I've read a bit about it at some point so I guess that's true," I said. "I notice that you seem close with Taehyung. How do you know him?"

"There's an incident once in the movie set. Taehyung was a low ranking police officer back then and they sent him to chase down the perp and I guess since then we've been hanging out often."

I mentally dropped my jaw. Taehyung had known this guy since he was still a rookie and he'd never introduced me to him?! Unbelievable.

"How about you? How did you meet Taehyung?" he asked.

Hearing him ask me that made me reminisce the times when both me and Taehyung were so young, the times when we were still two dorks having fun on the street.

"I was a super mess back then, so I went to this small bar near my house a lot and he was the bartender," I said, remembering the first time I met him. "We hung out most of the times since then and even entered the police academy together."

"Taehyung told me that you once went to England to study?"

"Uh, yeah, but I dropped out after two years."

"Dropped out? Why?"

I put on a bitter smile while looking down. I took a deep breath as I tried not to feel the pain that I had buried deep inside me.

"Two years after I left Seoul, I heard from my family that my boyfriend was murdered by a serial killer on his way home from campus," I said, causing him to surprise, not expecting that would be the answer, "and to this day, the person that has killed not only him, but also twenty other people in the city, hasn't been found."

"Let me guess," he said. "Is that why you joined the force, to find that person?"

"Bingo."

He smiled, then he held my hand. "I hope one day you will find whoever did it."

"I vow myself to find this person no matter how deeply involved I have to be," I said, "even if it costs my life."
