Jihyun

After going through an intense surgery, Taehyung finally woke up and found himself in a hospital bed with gauze wrapped around his stomach and his left arm.

He tried to regain his strength as he tried to sit up, but I immediately held him.

"Hey, hey. Take it easy, cowboy."

He seemed to be rubbing his eyes, perhaps to gain a clearer vision. "Jihyun, hey. I'm glad you're here."

I smiled. "And I'm glad you're recovering faster than the doctors thought."

"Um, how's Yoongi? He didn't run away again, did he?"

"No, no. They got him good."

Taehyung then lied back down on his bed and suddenly looked at me, full of wonders might I add. "How could you look so beautiful after having your head stitched like that?"

I chuckled. "Of course, I'm a goddess," I said, causing him to chuckle too. "You don't look so bad yourself."

Not long after that, a nurse came in to prep his medicine and did something to his infusion set, followed by a doctor who wanted to check up on him.

"Good morning, Detective Kim and Detective Jung," he said while smiling. "It's a relief to see you both recover well."

"Thank you, Dr. Park, for doing the surgery on Taehyung."

"Hey, that's my job, right? No need to thank me," he said. "Your boyfriend's here a fighter. He fought the injury with force."

Taehyung seemed to laugh it off. I looked at him with a smile for a second before turning back to the doctor, "Yeah. Yeah, he is."

The doctor then explained to Taehyung what kinds of medicine that he needed to take to fully recover from the wound and if in the next few days of observation from the doctors he didn't show any sign of weakness, then he could go home.

"Uh, anyway," he said as he grabbed my hand, "I heard you say something during our encounter with that bastard Yoongi."

I felt like I already knew what he was going to say, but I pretended not to and still asked, "Oh, what did you hear?"

He shrugged. "Uh, I'm not so sure though. It's possible that I misheard it," he said, "but I feel like I heard you refer to me as 'the man that I love'."

I giggled as she got embarrassed. I then tucked my hair behind both of my ears. "Okay, um, what about it?" I asked, causing Taehyung to raise an eyebrow as he chuckled.

"Uh, why would you say that?"

I looked down at my feet, perhaps because I was too shy to say it while looking at his big, beautiful eyes. "Perhaps because, uh, I'm in love with you?"

I knew the look whenever Taehyung got butterflies in his stomach and that one was one of them, despite his stomach just went through a surgery.

"Did you just say that you're in love with me?" he asked. I also knew that he must have heard me very clearly, but I think he just wanted me to say it again.

"I've been scared to admit it because I didn't want to feel like I was cheating on Jimin again, but Sojin talked some sense into me and well, I'm finally admitting that I, Jung Jihyun, is falling for my most annoying, loudest, and ugliest best friend, Kim Taehyung."

Taehyung put the widest smile anyone had ever seen on his face. Although he was physically still feeling weak, he sat up and leaned in closer before he captured his lips with mine and moved it passionately just how he did it with our first kiss.

He then broke it off and stared deeply into my eyes for a while before we both giggled.

"Is this why you didn't deny when Dr. Park called me your boyfriend?"

I nodded. "Yes," I said, making Taehyung feel the happiest he'd ever been.

He grabbed my hand again and gave it a kiss. "I'm going to make you the happiest woman in the world, Jung Jihyun."

I let him kiss it and smiled. "I already am."
