Alyssa and Cole are getting married.

_______

September 3, 2043 - The Lake District, England

Grace had been sobbing all morning and only stopped because Alyssa had threatened to start crying if her mother didn't.

Taylor was more of a wreck on the inside, and while Cole had been a welcome addition to their family for the last six years, it was still scary to see their little girl get married.

Alyssa was twenty-four, they had been engaged for almost three years already and it was finally the day she and Cole were going to tie the knot. They decided to get married in the same place they had gone on their first trip together.

About an hour before the ceremony was supposed to begin, the nerves finally hit Alyssa too. It wasn't like she didn't know she was getting married, it was more like it hadn't registered in her brain that it was about to actually happen.

"Mama," Alyssa turned her head over her shoulder and looked at Taylor, "Please tell me you were freaking out before you married Mom?"

"I was," Taylor replied softly, "Are you just now getting nervous?"

Grace chuckled slightly as she walked back into the room with a small plate of snacks for Alyssa. She remembered how little she and Taylor actually got to eat on their wedding day all those years before and Alyssa and Cole were expecting an even bigger crowd, so she was adamant on making sure her daughter ate before the ceremony.

"Tough as nails, yeah, okay" Grace said sarcastically with a slight shake of her head, "What are you worried about?"

"Uhm... okay, what if he's nervous and runs out?"

Grace and Taylor both had a moment of realization when their eyes met, a secret language told with a series of knowing looks they had developed over the years.

"Would you feel better if you could talk to him?" Taylor cocked her head slightly, "That's what we did on our wedding day. We stood on opposite sides of a doorway and held hands, talking until we weren't so nervous."

"But you aren't supposed to let him see you in your dress before the ceremony, it's bad luck," Alyssa sighed.

"But that's why you stand on opposite ends of the door. Grandma and Grandpa did it, Mom and I did it and shockingly we're still married. No bad luck there."

"Shockingly, Taylor?" Grace glared at her wife.

Taylor smiled and laughed a little bit quietly, "All of 2019, ring a bell?"

"What happened in 2019?" Alyssa asked.

"You were born," Grace laughed.

"I almost broke up your marriage?!"

"A couple times," Taylor shrugged, "You were a real bitch, 'Lyssa. In and outside the womb."

"Well that's even better!" The bride to be put her head in her hands.

"What?" Grace asked softly, placing a hand on Alyssa's shoulder.

"I'm pregnant," Alyssa mumbled, "And my demon spawn is going to destroy the marriage I'm not even in yet."

Taylor and Grace both gasped, jaw's slightly slacked as they took that in.
