Chapter Seven

Imprisoned

It's been two months since she was imprisoned in the smallest cell she had ever laid eyes on. The room has small hard bed without any kinds of foam or mattress to comfort her back at night. Her blanket was ragged and admired by an inch holes. The pillow she uses was made up of cut plastic wrappers and just loaded inside the pillow sheet. She has small bathroom which was covered with shower curtain –but there was no heater in the shower. It always gave her a violent shiver every time she took a bath. There was cramp sink with faucet she can drink some water.

Her diet so far was neglected and pitiful, she was sure malnutrition will kill her if the Chasen guy won't storm inside the prison and throw her outside the window with a fifty foot drop. The food they always served her was cold porridge and poorly seasoned vegetable salad. Sometimes there were several burned breads with the bland soup they prepared for her. And food only comes thrice a week –lunch and dinner. If it wasn't the faucet in the room, she would have clinging to life right now.

They were freezing and starving her in her incarceration.

It was prison alright, but she was secluded in the coldest area in the place. She wasn't allowed to go outside to admire the sunlight in her skin and they never gave her any clothes for her to change. She always wears the faded orange clothes; somehow the guard allowed her to bring her heavy coat with her.

Way back home, long time ago, in Alaska she had comfortable bed with her comforter and wool blanket to warm her up. She had two soft pillows she would hug every night. There was fridge in the kitchen laden with her favorite snacks and ready to heat food. It was always her mom who cooks food for them. Sometimes she does the cooking to feed herself if her mother was in town doing her errands.

She was only in high school of the small town and in no time she will graduate and have her diploma. Her parents always talk how much they are excited to see her walking the stage and take it. Watched her throw her cap in the air like everyone else.

She had friends, five amazing people she knew so much. There was Alice – babbly smart girl; Caroline –the cheerleader; Samantha –the school editor; Prete –a geek; and Robin –the superhero enthusiast. Her friends admired her because of her humbleness, understanding and down to earth personality. Some guys always bring her flowers and express their admiration towards her. She smiled at them, take politely their presents for her, but she always tells them kindly that the only relationship she can give them was friendship. She wasn't on the intimacy thing yet and would gladly take her chances in college.

But that seems to be a long and unrealistic dream now. The injustice to put her in cell and mistreated severely was never been included in her future. She never dreams once of prison and the trouble she was facing now.

How can someone fight with her rights when you go against a very powerful young man who can get everything in his way?

Everything was unexpected turmoil for her. One moment she was facing a bright future –now she ends up in hell. She was grieving because of the death of her parents. She was starving and cold as she waits for Mr. Fritzcole.

And the prospect of him the juror as he sentences her to death was causing her a nervous breakdown. He wants revenge because of her father. Her dad never succeeded harming him from the first place. And now he lets her catch all the trouble for her father's debt.

She knew the guy will come soon and punish her more and this time graver until the last breath. The snap in her wrist and the throw against the wall was only the warm up and there is more that awaits her and more terrifying –even deadlier than his punch.
