Chapter 35

Danger

Chasen is stuck in the office with the satellite team that are monitoring any suspicious water vehicles crossing the United States. They had noted several red flags for the past few weeks. Some ships have cargos such as drugs and humans. Who ever was behind such daring activities was unaware of the tightening security of every port ever since that bomb was discovered near pentagon. They seized everything and rescued the twenty people who are trying to be undocumented visitors. Upon interview, half of them wanted to work in the country while the others are members of the BIUFCO who wanted to spread their meths on the street.

"Look likes our Mexican friends are gathering near the boarder again," Allen,  the new recruit, announced.

Chasen frowned at the sight of the men. They didn't bring any of their usual products today as a matter of fact, the delinquents were just in their cars waiting on something.

"Keep an eye on them," he muttered.

"Yes sir!"

Chasen scoured the fifty monitors that features some places in the country including his home. He zoomed his address when he notice a car driving so fast towards the gate. His men fired guns at the vehicle but all of the bullets just dented the car. It was bulletproof.

"FUCK! FUCK!" he screamed running away from the room. Everyone was watching him unaware of the danger his family was facing at the moment. He took out his phone as he punches the elevator button to go down. "WILL! WILL! ARE YOU THERE? !"

"Shit man they are bombarding the place!" Chasen heard the unmistakable booming sounds in the background. The ping of the elevator made him run toward his car.

"Where are my parents, my wife? ! Will bring them in the basement! I am coming," Chasen drove like hell ignoring the officers trying to stop him. There is no way he will let anyone stop him from reaching his home. His home that is suffering from bombardment.

"I got your parents but Natalie is upstairs inside your room! Bullets and bombs are showering the entire place god damn  it. Mr. Fritzcole! Mrs. Fritzcole get inside get inside quick!"

"Natalie? Where's she?" Chasen  can hear his mother looking for his wife.

"I will find her just go hide in the basement," Will shouted.

The sound of explosion and firing guns made him suffer anxiety even if he was trying to cruise his car a mile per seconds. Traffic lights were ignored as he zigzag his way to fifteen minutes drive mansion.

"Come on" he growled turning recklessly on the sharp turn.

He could see a white van jam between the gates, the passengers were no where to be sighted but he knew they are still inside firing bullets on the holes they had made on the van. His car sped toward their direction and rammed it with such force he nearly lost control of the steering wheel. Despite the collision, he didn't stop driving the car but proceed driving it to the house. He would let his men attend into that situation with the men in the van. He just needed to see Natalie now, see if she was safe and okay.

Once he stepped on the brake, the car halted and he threw the door open. Bullets instantly rain in his direction. He rolled out of harm, took his sniper position behind the fountain looking for the culprit, and he saw them. Two guys. One was holding an AK while the other was busy with a controller. Chasen assess the sky looking for whatever is the second man was controlling. Sure enough, a drone was flying toward the house carrying explosives.

He immediately emptied his magazine at the two. Bullets are flying in their direction but he didn't see who got shot because he was already speeding inside the house to where Natalie is. Men are moaning on the ground fixing their wounds.

"NATALIE! NATALIE!" he shouted at the corridor where debris from the damage ceiling obstructed his way.

"IN HERE!" he heard a shrill scream.

Chasen jumped, lifted and bulldorized every debris on his way just to reached his wife. He kicked the hanging door wide. Natalie run on his arms looking frightened and disheveled.

"Are you alright?" he asked in agitated voice. His anger was barely contained paving away to his murderous thoughts of retaliation. How dare them inflicting this havoc. They  will pay.

"I'm fine, Will is not. He got buried by the closet. Come on help him," Natalie pulled him toward Will who was pinned by the chest.

"Natalie I want you to stay for a while in our other room, come on now I don't want you expose like this," Chasen requested as he lift the wardrobe off Will.

"But how about you?" she asked.

"NATALIE GET INSIDE THE OTHER ROOM NOW!" he didn't mean to shout at her but his worry of his wife in the open where bullets are still flying everywhere made him agitated. By the look of fear and hurt on her face, he knew he had been mean. But it is the only way to keep her safe. He watch her enter the room before he use all his might to lift the thing on top of his comrade.

"Are you still alive man?" he asked picking him up and dragging him to the place where Natalie is sulking.

"I want a hazardous pay for this man," Will gasped.

"Yeah yeah whatever man just hang on there," Chasen slumped him on the carpet. He turned his attention at the woman sitting on the corner. "You know I didn't mean to shout like that sweetheart," he crouch in front of her still hurt face, "I am just worried you will get hurt, you know me, you know I hate seeing you in pain."

"I'm fine Chase I'm just in shock," she sighed.

"So you forgive me for displaying such rudeness?" he asked in hope.

Natalie grabbed his face and gave him a sweet kiss that he wanted to extend despite the war outside of his home but Will groaning in disgust in the background made him growled in displeasure. "Shut it or I will personally dump the bed on top of you," he spat at Will. Natalie chuckled on that one.

"It's disgu-" Will reply was cut of by the biggest explosion that shook the entire house. The ceiling was falling apart, windows shuttered and walls collapses on them. Chasen grabbed Natalie's hand, dragged her towards Will who was covering his head and carried him fireman's style away from the room. He never let go of Natalie's hand even though the ground they are jogging on is shaking against their feet.

"Duck!" he pulled Natalie down when bullets showered the walls. "We should go downstairs it's much safe other than the crumbling second floor we are standing. Stay with me now Natalie I don't want you leaving my side," he breathed. Will's weight was really taking its toll on him.

They carefully maneuvered  their way to the stairs that are missing some banisters and steps. Chasen in front with Will slumped on his shoulder. Natalie under her husband's insistence stayed behind him where she is shielded from any danger in front.

But what they didn't expect was another bomb dropped ten feet from their position. The explosion threw them downstairs. Chasen landed on his back while Will was thrown on the walls.

Natalie however landed on her face. The thud made Chasen run dizzily to where Natalie lay facedown, not moving at all. He picked her up to assess if she was still breathing. The strong pulse on her neck made him breath in relief. But the blood on her forehead drive him crazy. It was like a waterfall. If he didn't take her to the hospital right now, he would never forgive himself.

"CHASEN! WHERE ARE YOU MAN!" someone shouted but he didn't care for the troops traipsing their way to get them. He carried her dizzily to the cars stopping beside the fountain.

"Hospital hospital now," he stuttered at whoever is driving the black car.
