Chapter 36

Escapee

Degon ducked down from the ferocious bullets from the twenty or more cops coming in his direction. He can see his men trapped on the van battling twice the numbers he has on his tail.

"Blow them up, Degon and let's get the hell out of here," Miguel gasped painful at me. The bullet which the Fritzcole soldier rained to them hit him.

Degon controlled the drone towards the gate before blowing it into pieces. The cops jumped beside their car to avoid the burning inferno. "You know you are a liability now, Miguel," he said, his eyes narrowing.

"I...I can stand...let's escape," Miguel tried to plead.

However, Degon had enough of the massacre that is about to happen if he won't leave now, "this has to be done," he snapped and pointed his gun at Miguel who mimicked him.

"Then both of us-" Miguel didn't finish his words as Degon pulled the trigger of his gun before running away from the chaos. He didn't check if Miguel was killed or not but he was sure that he hit the guy's chest.

Everything blur around him, his feet moving like it never move before. Escape the bullets and the cops, go to the place where he knew his safety is waiting.

Cars halt as he run to the traffic trying to throw off the people catching him. They are further away but knowing how the government work being confidence could kill.

He took a left turn where people scattered beside the road. The perfect disguise to throw off the chasers. Blending in was so easy that he find himself drifting to freedom. One more corner and he will find the car that will truly give him the advantage against the pursuers. He shrug off his coat and pull off his long sleeve to further confuse the cops. The cap in his back pocket was now in his hands before shoving it on his head.

Once he turned another left, the warehouse greeted him. He rush inside to where the car is. His hand shook in excitement as he opened the door and start the engine. The sound it made put a smile on his face.

The journey away from Washington to Miami took almost his sanity. Every bluring lights and the sight of cop car made him sweat in fear. Either he escape desperately or let them killing him. Taking him in custody is out of the question. Uzmali will kill everyone of his family if he got the slightest news that someone was captured and undertaking interrogation.

The sight of the small plane in the private airport owned by one of Uzmali's payroll created a sense of overwhelming relief inside his body. It was like someone drench him with that necessary cold water from basking too long on a desert heat.

Two men greeted his0m when he stepped out at last and vacate the car. "Good afternoon," the older man greeted.

"Yes yes let's go let's go," Degon almost run inside the plane in his eagerness to escape the state.

"The plan is change you are expected to land in Texas near the border of Mexico, there you swim the river dividing the border and the Sillowas will be interception you," the old man spoke.

"What but I thought we will fly straight to Mexico?" he spat. Right now the plane is taxing in the runway.

"The boss change the arrangement," he replied.

Degon bit his tongue to stop his curses flying out of his mouth. The boss didn't brief him about the change of plans. Did the news spreading across the country rattled him?

Hour's pass and the plane at last made a landing to an empty road.

"Straight to the water no lingering," the pilot warned.

Degon took off as soon as the plane's door opened. He run towards the body of water before any boarder patrol spots him. Once he plunges himself into the water, the sound of siren rung in the surroundings. Guns were fired from somewhere.

"Fast fast," one Mexican beckoned him toward the shore. Five more accompanied him but they were shooting at the patrols

"Enrique go go," the scar face guy screamed while he drag Degon to the beat up car, "you go with Enrique and he will drive you home."

Degon nodded before climbing inside the car.

Miguel might escaped the bullet from that treacherous Degon because of his bulletproof vest but the government captured him before he even pointed the gun at them. But these people are wasting their time since he would never tell them anything about the group behind all of this.

"You can shut your mouth all you want but the interrogation will loosen you up man because we have ways squeezing out information out of vermins like you," one military personal sneered at him nastily.

"Then I look forward to it," Miguel challenge.

"Don't we all," the person chuckled.
