Chapter 37

Opening

There were distracting sounds ringing in her ears as she waits for her full consciousness to come around. There was something buzzing from the left side of her ear; it was beeping. Three people were arguing and she could recognize someone that sent her heart beating like horses galloping together. It signals fear and she was terrified waking up to face who owned that voice. He was asking at someone and a knowledgeable person answered him professionally. Then there was a woman's voice, she sounded anxious like the first voice she heard

"Will she really suffer amnesia? You told me her temporal lobe suffered gravely from the fall." Chasen asked in anxiety.

"Let's just hope Mr. Fritzcole that her injuries are not that grave we feared." The doctor sympathized.

She heard someone shuffling out of the room as the woman's voice followed him out. Someone sat nearby and took her hand. The stranger was murmuring of her waking up now. But Natalie was so afraid to wake up from her fake unconsciousness. She knew the man beside her and she remembered everything he did to her. The nightmares in Ireland. But the thing she couldn't explain was how did the hunter found her and why is he holding her hand softly. Should he crush it and enjoy her moaning in pain. She can't understand this. Maybe she was just dreaming and when she wakes up she will be in her bedroom in Ireland. Nate should be calling her now and the Polkovitches should be knocking on her door now. But not a sound she remembered distrub her aside from the beeping monitor and the hunter murmuring words she can't understand.

This is bad, she thought as she let her imaginations run wild. The hunter finally located her and she was going to die this time. Carefully, unwillingly, she opened her eyes to orient herself from her surroundings. She regretted at once when Chasen Fritzcole's face was in front of her. The scream she let out rang inside the room. "Don't hurt me! Help! Someone!"she cried and cried.

"Natalie...  stop! I won't hurt you! I promised you...before in Brazil... I'll die first if I ever think of it... You're confuse... Sweetheart"

Natalie freed her hands from him as she cried and cried while saying the words get away from me. Chasen only hugged her tightly, soothing her not to be afraid. But hugging her seemed to be a mistake as a blood curling scream came out from her mouth. Thunderous footsteps came from everywhere as the commotion finally sent alarms in the nearby rooms. His parents, two nurses and one doctor came in a hurry and gazed at the struggling female while the male frantically begged her to calm down.

       "You're confuse...."

She shook her head. "Don't hurt me... Don't hurt me..." she cried in beggings.

Mrs.  Fritzcole came beside them trying to support her son who was losing his composure as Natalie  continuously shoves him away from her. "Natalie,  honey please relax and listen to us... Please let us explain everything to you...", but Natalie was losing it and wailed even louder. She put her hands around her knees, bowed her head and cried.

"You.... You forgive me... For five months we've been together and married... Look, just please look....the ring in your finger is the proof...." Chasen forcefully took her left hand and held his owned hand.

Natalie’s red face came up from her fetal position; she was careful enough not to look at Chasen. A beautiful ring was indeed there in her finger that seems to partner with the ring in Chasen’s own finger. But she couldn’t remember when and how it got there. Or when was she transferred to the United States of America and how did she end up marrying the nightmare of her dreams. The sadistic monster who had almost killed her. Who tortured her severely. "I don't remember... Please don't hurt me again... I don't want to suffer that again." She gaze toward the mother with pleading eyes. "Don't give me to him..." she pleaded desperately as she wrenched her hand from his unwilling hand.
