Chapter Eighteen

Rescued

The capturers drink their way upon hearing great news coming from Deril that the ransom money was now being prepared. The man himself is on his way together with Azir. They wanted to see the hard cash and get Chasen killed as treachery get's involved. But Azir had another plan in action and he needed for the Deril guy to be out of the picture. Someone was already on the job but it has to wait until they had the money in their secured hands. It will be later as they travel back to Israel where the vault was waiting for track loads of American cash.

Kali stood up and held a huge mug of liquor in the air. "For our health boys!" he roared to his companion. They tossed and started singing their short live victory party.

Chasen's chains were now so loose he can actually stand up and the chains will drop on the floor. There are two guards watching him at the moment, but their eyelids were now starting to drop. Tiredness was taking its toll to them and not him. His trainings were proving to be so useful compare to the amateurs he is dealing. They are so carelessly arrogant to assume he can't escape them and rest their trust to two already beat up guards.

Natalie was still wearing her pained face as she slumps against the wall, waiting for lightening to strike down in her direction and kill her now. No matter what happened to night she will suffer a painful death -if her contingency plan won't work. Chasen will have his escape, probably if the guys are so distracted feasting with her. He will leave her alone, maybe smiling that she will at last have a suffering last breath. The Kali guy told her she will be force to submissive and suffer more humiliation while they prolong her life. Fifteen men for one girl, too much -gruesome that's what it is. She gave another moan of distraught wishing more than ever she died five years ago.

Chasen couldn't help himself looking in her direction while she continues to sniff, cry, whimper and wear that mournful face. He wonders if she wishes she should have died years ago in his room to escape every horror that is waiting for her again. Thinking of his room, brought him uneasy feeling in his stomach. He did that to her? He asks his heartless conscience. Of course he did and he was enjoying her thrashing, squirming in pain, bleeding and begging for his mercy... to kill her already... to escape the pain... pain... and more pain coming from him -the sadistic monster.

He wrenches himself away from his memories. Now he had done it, resurrecting the sympathy he had buried when he entered the government. He will pay dearly later while remorse comes hunting his conscience down. He just hopes the consequence wouldn't pain him so much.

Its nightfall now and he can see the fire outside the cave. Kali stood up, walked drunkenly, took a pissed and told Eli to fetch the girl. The guys cheered jubilantly on the news. Somehow this pronouncement gave a jolt in Chasen's nerve. He checks the chains again, readying for a quick action if he sees his opening and he can sense it will come in a minute. The guards outside were wasted and only Eli and Kali was still in their feet. The two guards in front of him were easy to handle and they wouldn't even know what will hit them.

Eli came yanking Natalie off the ground; clearly she was surprise by the sudden attack. She somehow manages to drift asleep as the day goes by. The hunger, anxiety and pain caught up with her and she fell asleep. Eli drags her away from the cave; she tried to break free but the injured ankle keeps her hobbling. She stared with pleading eyes in Chasen and she was gone.

Kali was waiting in a rough boulder of stone in front of the weary soldiers. They started whistling and laughing as Natalie came into view. Then Eli restrained both of her arms and pinned her against the boulder. He walks around and stops above her head. Kali spread her legs as the crowds cheered excitedly. She screamed in protests as Kali used a small knife to cut what's left of her dress. Her eyes can actually see his eager face even if tears obscured her vision and the dim light coming from the fire. She screamed for him to stop whatever he was thinking. The man securing her hands above her head was laughing at her pleadings. "We heard those words for the hundred times already missy," he laughs. The pants were next when a small bomb was thrown in the middle of the watching crowd then another smoke bomb covered the clearing. Shots were fired, Chasen was suddenly beside her head reaching for the Eli guy and Eli's neck was twitched severely that everyone heard it snaps. Kali himself had a knife on his chest and Chasen followed up with a hard uppercut. He wrenches Natalie off the boulder and carried her away from the chaotic cave.

He continues to zigzag his way in the darkening surroundings as gunshots were rained all over the forests. Good thing though he knew the place from his training days. They were close to the Amazon River and in the edge of it was a small tribe he met on those training sessions of tracking. Like his training he was carrying a baggage to test his stamina, well technically right now he was carrying a human, but the weight was tolerable. His baggage before was twice the weight of Natalie.

The moon was obscured by clouds as he travels in the silent mountain. Where are the panthers or the anacondas in the region? It should be promising and he needed them for his diversion. The idiots back there weren't oriented enough in the region and he was banking in their lack of knowledge of tracking.

A familiar slope was ahead of him, but there was another way to travel it not just sliding down the dangerous hill. There was a small rocky portion of the mountains where a narrow crack can lead them downward. Even his beef built can squeeze through it. He put down Natalie and snake his left hand around her waist to put as much of her weight to him.

"You could have left me and save the trouble," she muttered as they squeeze their way through the narrowed gap. It surprises her that Chasen didn't abandon her, save the trouble carrying someone and escaped the place. His travel would be fast if he didn't take her with him.

"Yeah and why did you stare at me with pleading eyes as he drags you out then?" he snaps. His mind was running in urgency as he watches her being taken again and he couldn't quite explain his quick decision to rescue her from the stupid guys who wanted to rape her.

Natalie didn't know too why she did it, but the panic of being force against her on will made her desperate that she almost forgotten her phobia of him. "I don't know..." she trailed off. Somehow it made her grateful that her hunter saved her earlier. But why would he even bother when all along he wanted her to die in an agonizing way, yet now he was saving her? Is it because he felt grateful for patching his bleeding head? If that's so, she was still in danger and maybe he will preserved her for bait later like the guys used her to attract him. He promised in the cave she will receive the halted knuckles earlier and suffer a great injury more painful than her snapped ankle. Life is so unfair for her that she almost snatched the gun in his waist and put a bullet in her head instead; to escape the burden and suffering; an easy getaway.
