Dearly Beloved
After you finally acknowledged me you talked to me again.
Today you gave me a piece of paper.
My eyes filled with excitement, joy, and wonder.
I was about to open it up when you said can you pass it to Ana, please.
I didn't even look at you. I nodded and tapped Ana's shoulder. She turned and frowned. It's from Max.
She opened it and smiled. She scribbled something on a piece of paper, then turned to me again. She faked a smile and gave it to me. Can you give this to Max?
I handed it to you, and you suddenly smiled, when you read it.
My heart sank in a sudden melancholic feeling. That's when I realized it might be better to let you go.
She said 'yes', Ezra! She's going on a date with me! Can you believe it!? You hissed at me.
Of course I could believe it. She had to be insane if she said 'no'.
You sounded so excited. Your face was lit so brightly and your gleaming smile was wider than it was when you smiled at me. The happiness radiated off your face and I could do nothing but fake a small smile and say congratulations. I turned in my seat and tried paying attention to Miss Roesch.
She was speaking about Romeo and Juliet. Oh how perfect. Just what I needed.
She was suddenly at the part of the story in which Romeo returned to the ball just for Juliet. He had fallen in love at first sight and I remembered when I first saw you.

That day I was arriving to school and you were at the main office. I'd missed the bus that morning having to walk to school. As I was entering you looked in my direction and smiled. I returned it but as I turned to walk out the door I realized it wasn't me you were staring at smiling. It was her.
I realized then, I'd never be good enough.

After school I went outside. It was a perfect day to walk home, and although it was only April, the temperature that day was at fifty-five degrees. The air that hit my face was cool and the flowers were already beginning to bloom. I looked up at the sky. It was blue. Just like your eyes.
Your eyes are blue. Just like the sky. The sight was beautiful. An astonishing sight, to be honest.
A smile appeared on my face involuntarily, and walked on to the sidewalk.
I bumped into something, sure it was a pole, I didn't even look up, just went around. Or tried to. Suddenly I heard a chuckle that made me look up. To my surprise it was you. Out of anyone that could've been there it was you.
Hey Ezzy. You told me.
I gave out a nervous laugh and said hey. It hadn't been a pole that time.
Are you very clumsy Ezzy?
It's Ezra. I answered completely ignoring your question.
I like Ezzy, though. Plus you ignored my question. Are you the clumsy type?
Were you honestly interested?I-I am. I thought you were a pole I ran into.
At this you laughed.
A sincere laugh.
A laugh that made my head turn.
A laugh that I fell in love with all over again.A pole? Me? No just plain old Max.
How dumb can I be?
How embarrassed I was
No. don't say that Ezzy.
A sudden silence overpowered the moment. So see ya later Ezzy.I said nothing but I did wave.
And I kept walking.
Dearly Beloved, are you blind?
Is it really not obvious?
Do you really not suspect anything?
But why did you suddenly start talking to me?
How will I able to talk to you again?
How?
Dearly Beloved is it wrong?
Is it wrong to love you so?
