Demon child

Lydia scanned the newspaper, barely recognizing the womans face.The headline was:

"Women gets into fatal accident, only two year old survives." With a picture of the pale two year old little girl on the front.
"Yeah" Lydia laughed, "She claimed her kid was half demon or something like that or that she was half dead or whatever." Beetlejuice stared at her, waiting for her to figure out what he was implying, her eyes widened and he took a sigh of relief, until the girl laughed even harder than before.

"Lydia-"

"I'm sorry, but you really thing your this girls Dad? I mean how did you even screw the woman? You're DEAD?" Lydia was laughing so hard there was tears coming out of her eyes, this HAD to be one of his pranks.

"IT WAS HALLOWEEN OKAY??" Beetlejuice shut her up with a his booming voice that literally made the house shake. "Spirits can roam free on halloween.. And the last owners of the house across the street had a huge party that night and me and Sarah.. we... you know."

"So you screwed a girl on halloween two years ago and now think that her daughter is yours?" Lydia pried, still in disbelief that Beetlejuice is still hung up about this stupidity. "I mean how would that even work? Aren't you dead?"

"I wasn't on Halloween, thats the point." Beetlejuice stood up, even he could agree his behavior was way off, "Look, I always knew Novella was my kid, Sarah Told me a few months later when she came to house sit for the owners of the house who where out on some stupid vacation they never came back from. She nine months pregnant, like about to pop, so when I told her I was dead, and you know a literal demon, she kinda freaked out a little. Then she really did pop and the last time I saw her was when she brought Novella over for like five minutes. After that she disappeared."

Lydia was completely stunned, she was a good judge of character, and was very good at telling if people were lying or not, he wasn't lying.
"O-okay, so what do you want me to do about it?"

This was the craziest thing she'd ever done. Beetlejuice somehow by the grace of his 'powers' or whatever the hell they were, had given her a fake ID to go get this kid. Needles to say it worked because she was holding a sleeping 2 year old girl, and walking towards the demon who stayed at the end of the road. "Why cant I come?" He asked her before she went in, he didn't quite understand that going into a police station looking like a crazy person wasn't a good look.
" Is that her?"
"Nah just some random kid that was up for grabs." BJ rolled his eyes and took the child from her arms. For the first time since she met him, this was the most human she ever saw him. BJ cradled the girl in his arms like a newborn, staring at her with a blank expression, that or he was trying to find the right expression.
"Kids out cold" he finally said with a smile, which was weird for him because demons weren't supposed to feel, and he was feeling countless things he didn't understand.
"Yeah, the officer said she had a bad night last night. They handed her right to me though, no background check or anything. The guy in there said she was ' a little devil' and that they're glad to get rid of her'." BJ's face twisted.
"They said WHAT?"
"Relax, BJ, you're gonna wake her up."

The Maitlands were ecstatic after their first doctor's appointment, they hung up each and every ultrasound picture on the mantle, fridge, wherever they could put them.
"Barb, don't forget to take your vitamins" Adam kissed her cheek and his way to the fridge.
" I already did, they're in the medicine cabinet upstairs."
Barbra and Adam spent the rest of the night watching Netflix and eating cereal for dinner, something they'd been doing nightly ever since Barbra had gotten pregnant. Pregnancy was hard on her; she was always sick and exhausted so the couple decided to take it easy for the next few weeks. Adams' job allowed him to work at home, and Barbra didn't work, so they used the opportunity to relax while they could.
A knock and their front door interrupted their "relaxing", Barbra answered to the teenage girl from when they first moved in, and some strange man in makeup with green hair holding a child. Adam came up behind her, eyes widening when he realized who really was at the door.
"Adam who's this man?"
"A demon?" Before Barbra could really even fathom how to respond, The demon let out a flashing light from his eyes to prove that he was, in fact, not human. Barbra screams woke Novella, who started to cry when she realized she was out of sorts and didn't know who any of these people where. The woman almost instantaneously took the child and comforted her in a motherly embrace. BJ, slightly annoyed she just took the girl from him, he turned to Adam.
"Adam I need a favor."
"Yeah and we all have a lot of explaining to do."

BJ has a child?? How do you guys feel about that? I promise it will make sense soon but what did you guys think? Pls pls pls let me know! Also make ideas for baby Maitland would be helpful! I feel like this chapters kinda bad but idk.
