Olivia looked down at the doctor who was checking her out. He numbed the area so she couldn't feel him poking around.

"What the hell happened?" Elliot demanded walking over to Olivia's bedside. He reached for her hand and turned glaring at Amaro.

"Who are you?" Nick asked standing up from his chair putting his hands on his hips.

Elliot stepped away towards him before Olivia sat up and grabbed his hand tighter. As she moved, it caused the doctor to press into the gunshot hole. She cried out in pain because apparently the numbing didn't work all that well.

"This is my husband, Amaro." She let him know as she threw her head back in pain. The two men barely paid her any mind as they stared each other down. Nick had been her partner for less than a day and he was already being too protective of her.

"How did you let this happen to her?" Elliot growled letting Olivia's hand go. He was enraged that the first day she had a new partner, she got injured. He knew this would have never happened if he was still her partner.

Nick didn't have the chance to defend himself before Elliot started talking again. "If you would have had her back, this woulnd't have happened. You should have canvased better. This is your fault Olivia was shot." He began to yell.

Olivia went to try and defuse the situation but before she could, the doctor stood up. "Excuse me, I need you both to leave. Ms.Benson does not need this as I am trying to patch her up.".

Both men stared at the doctor before exiting the room. Olivia sighed in relief. She just wanted finish here at the hospital and go to bed.

The doctor finished and told her that soon a nurse would be in to give her a pain reliever before they discharged her to go home.

She was resting with her eyes closed but it wasn't long before she heard yelling in the hallway. The voice was defiently Elliot's. She couldn't distinguish what was being said. What she did hear was Cragen. "Enough! Elliot, go home! Olivia will meet you there later. Amaro, back to the precinct!". She was thankful Cragen ended it and she didn't need to get in the middle.

She was too tired to be handling Elliot's possesiveness right now.

After she was bandaged up, she was given a pair of hospital issued sweatpants. While the injury hurt like hell, it was surprisingly just a flesh wound and she would heal in no time at all. She would be out of work for a few days then probably desk duty for a couple weeks. She sat on the edge of the bed signing her discharge papers when Fin entered her hospital room.

"Ready to go, Liv?" He asks as he holds up the keys to their squad car. She nods gratefully as he helps her stand from the bed. They slowly make their way out to the car that was parked right outside the enterance. She knew he used his badge to park here to make it easier for her to come outside. After helping her in the car, they took the long drive back to her apartment.

The walk into their building, into the elevator, and to her door felt like the longest walk in the world. She was so exhausted. The meds given to her by the doctor were making her sleepy. With her clothes and prescription in hand, she held tightly onto Fin as he walked her into the apartment.

Elliot was pacing back and forth in the living room when she got there. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw her come down the hall with Fin. Both of the men make quick work of getting her set up on the couch.

He thanked Fin and walked him to the door. "I appreciate you, Fin. Thank you for getting her home.".

Fin shook his hand and opened the door, "Word of advice Elliot? Just take care of her.". With that, the man walked out of the apartment leaving the married couple alone again.

Elliot went back to the living room and took a seat next to Olivia. Her head was resting on the back of the couch and her arms were crossed over her chest. She turned her head and opened her eyes to find him watching her. "What happened?" He asks reaching out for her hand.

She sighed before explaining to him what had gone down that day. She told him how she was so sure it was going to be an easy take down until she heard the gunshot. She knew what the perp was capable of but she thought the squad was going to catch him off guard.

After she finished telling him the story of the day, the anger she saw earlier was back. "I don't like you working with this new guy." He states in a tone that meant he wasn't asking, he was telling.

Her brow furrowed and she started to object, "I don't have a choice, El. He is my new partner, regardless if I like it or not. He was very helpful to me at the hospital today.". She squeezed his hand trying to calm the storm that was brewing within him.

"No, Olivia. I don't trust him. Your first day with him and he lets you get shot. You never once got shot when I was your partner." As he went on, his voice started getting louder and she couldn't help but roll her eyes. Sometimes, he treated her like property instead of a humanbeing and it got on her nerves. There were times the protectiveness was cute and a turn on but there were others when it was just flat out irritating.

"It happens. We know this. It is a part of the job. It always has been. It would have happened regardless if you were my partner or not." Her tone is stern because she knows he is spirialing. Lately, it is hard to talk him down when he is angry and right now she just doesn't have the fight in her.

"No! I won't accept that. I don't want you working there anymore." As soon as he said it, her head popped off the back of the couch. She was waiting for him to laugh, smirk, anything to indicate he was joking. He didn't actually expect her to quit her job, right?

When nothing came, she scoffed and started to move off of their couch. "We aren't doing this tonight, Elliot." As she got up, he grabbed her arm and used his strength to pull her back down the couch. She let out a yelp as it yanked on her stiches.

She gasped loudly as she tried to calm herself and focus on anything but the pain that was going through her leg. "I wasn't done talking, Olivia." He got up and started pacing the length of their table.

"I don't trust anybody else to be your partner and I obviously cannot trust you to not get hurt at work. I will not sit at home while you are being stupid in the field and getting shot." He rants on and she just watches him pace. What he was saying was deeply angering her. She was a good detective and he knew it. There were plenty of times that she had to save his ass in the field. It was completely unfair for him to be reacting this way. She knew it was scary to have her get hurt but it was barely anything. It was a small flesh wound to the thigh.

"Elliot, knock it off. I'm not quitting my job but I am going to bed." She slowly stood up and grabbed her medication as she went to limp off to their bedroom to shower before bed.

Olivia didn't get to far before she felt his hand grab her upper arm tightly. She turned to look at him and he was seething angry. "What did I tell you about walking away from me? I wasn't done talking." He yells.

"But I am." She wretched her hand out of his grasp and went to their bedroom.

Olivia has never been so irritated with Elliot. Ever since the shooting he had been off and it was really pissing her off. One second he was loving and tender with her and the next he was angry and yelling at her. Some of the things he was saying continually sat in the back of her mind. Even if he apologized for it, she couldn't forget it. The insults had to have come from somewhere and it was making her question everything she was doing. Lately, she felt like she had to walk on egg shells around him. Olivia never thought their marriage would take this kind of turn. He always seemed to have anger issues and sometimes it got out of control but it was rarely directed at her. Usually, she was the only person who could get through to him.

She shook her head and turned on the shower and waited as it warmed up. She felt like she could scream in utter frustration. She had no idea what to do and how to make things normal again.
