Elliot slipped the phone out of her back pocket and silenced the phone before looking at the caller. It was an unsaved New York number. He furrowed his brow wondering who was calling her. He glanced down at her and her eyes were fluttering back open.
He abruptly sat up and it knocked her off balance. Olivia barely caught herself and sat up looking at him questionably.
Elliot thrust the phone at her with hard eyes, "Answer it on speaker.", he demanded. Olivia blinked the sleep out of her eyes and reached for the phone.
She answered and turned on the speaker. "Hello?" She asks quietly. Olivia had no idea who was calling her because the number wasn't in her contacts.
"Hello? Olivia?" Nick's voice came through the phone. She furrowed her brow because she knew that she had his number saved. They exchanged information before they left for the take down. Why wasn't it saved now?
"Hi, Amaro." She says running her hands through her hair. She avoided looking at Elliot because she knew he was fuming that Nick had called her. She couldn't even look him in the eye because she knew this was going to be bad.
Olivia heard Nick take a deep breath, "Are you okay?" He asked her. As she heard him speak, she froze. Her eyes slowly closed and she gripped the phone tighter.
"Yeah, I am fine. Why wouldn't I be?" Olivia asks trying to be more cheerful to make the situation lighter. She felt Elliot shift on the couch and his hands were gripped tightly together. She knew that Nick had seen the bruise on her thigh and the bruises from her cheeks. She was just praying he said nothing. Although, she knew that it unlikely.
"Well, earlier I got worried about you. I just wanted to make sure you were okay." The new partner explained and Olivia bit her lip hard. She just knew this wasn't going to turn out well.
She leaned forward and put her hand on her forehead, "Yes, I am fine. Thank you for checking in, Amaro." She says quietly.
Nick let out a long exhale as he debated his options. He could just let it go but he didn't want to let it go. He was concerned about his new partner. It didn't matter how long he had known her, he was now his partner. Partners are there for better or for worse. "Olivia, the bruises." He simply stated. Nick was hoping that it would get her to open up more if she knew exactly what he was referring to when he was questioning if she was okay.
Before he could continue, the phone just went dead. He looked down and saw that Olivia had hung up on him. Nick frowned as he started at the dark screen. He hoped that he hadn't offended her. He just wanted her to know that he was there for her and that he was willing to help her through whatever was going on.
When Elliot heard Nick bring up the bruises, he snatched the phone aggressively from Olivia's hands, ended the call, and whipped the phone towards the ground. Olivia scooted back on the couch and braced herself for whatever was about to happen.
"What have you been telling him, Olivia?" He screamed standing directly in front of her. Olivia looked up at him with pleading eyes hoping that he would believe her but she knew it was a losing battle.
"Nothing, Elliot! I swear to god! I didn't say anything to him!" She exclaimed reaching out to grab his hand but he pulled his hand back and slapped her across the face.
Olivia's face jerked to the right and she felt the heat building in her face from the intensity of the blow she received to the cheek.
"How did he see the bruise on your leg, Olivia?" Elliot roared pulling her up from the couch by her shirt. "Are you sleeping with him?", he questioned with poison dripping from his words.
Her arms felt glued to her side but she was itching to push him away and to defend herself but her body felt paralyzed. She couldn't move a muscle. "No. No. There is nobody but you." She whimpered turning her face away from Elliot.
"Then how did he see it? Huh?" he shouted loudly in her face. Elliot reached up and hit her in the face again. "Is this what you do? Spread your legs for all of your partners?" He yelled.
Olivia reached up and tried to block her face from his hands but he grabbed her wrists and yanked the down. "You are such a fucking whore. Just like your mother." Elliot sneered.
He let go of her wrists and before he could make another move, she swooped under his arm and made a dash for their bedroom.
Olivia ran down the hall and he was right behind her. She made it inside just in time to slam it right before he got there. She clicked the lock and leaned against the door with all her weight.
Her breathing was coming out in shallow pants and she didn't know what to do. Elliot was escalating so fast and she was flat out terrified of what was going to happen. She can't do anything right and was constantly making him act this way.
Elliot started banging on the door with his fists and screaming her name. "Open the fucking door, Olivia!" He screamed wildly hitting the door repeatedly.
Olivia sat on the floor with her hands covering her ears rocking back and forth. She prayed that he would just come to his senses and would calm down. There was nothing going on between her and Amaro and she didn't know how to convince him of that. Olivia loved Elliot and only Elliot. Even after everything, she loved him from the depths of her soul. She lived and breathed for Elliot Stabler. He was her everything and she didn't know how she could live without him.
Tears fell harder the louder that he screamed. "I swear to god, Olivia! Open the fucking door or you will regret it!" He shouted from the other side of the door.
Olivia crawled away from the door and sat in the corner of the room. She pulled her legs up to her chest and put her face between her knees. She thought about calling for help but she remembered two problems.
First of all, her phone was on the floor in the living room and obviously there was no getting to it. Second of all, who would she call? Nobody would believe her. The squad already thought she was having a mental breakdown so would they ever believe her that Elliot was abusing her? No, they wouldn't. Elliot may have been the poster boy for rage but he was also a good christian man. He wasn't the type of person to raise a hand to a woman. But yet, here he was. She was completely alone. There was nothing she could do but just endure it.
"Olivia, I swear I will kill you if you don't open this door!" He yelled. It got silent for a second but then he hit the door harder. "Now, Olivia!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.
Just then, there was a loud banging on the front door. Olivia scrambled towards the bedroom door and listened intently. She heard him walking down the hallway and she stood up to press her ear against the door. Who could possibly be at their door right now and what were they going to do?
Olivia felt a panic rise in her throat. Her chest burned in nervousness and her hands began to shake. She didn't want Elliot to get in trouble because of her. She should have just never gave Amaro her number and this wouldn't have happened. He couldn't get in more trouble because of her.
She heard the front door open and she heard a deep male voice speak, "NYPD.".
