I arrived with the police force at the location where Brenda's phone was located. The journey was really long, the phone had led us to the outskirts of town.
On getting there all we could see was just a land full of tall tress and grass, there were no houses around, this felt really creepy to me.
The police went in search for her, as they followed the location of her phone, it seemed she wasn't moving from that location.
Minutes later we head deep into the woods, we finally found her cellphone, it was covered up with some grass. Detective Robles picked up the phone with a serious frown on his face.
"it seems she dumped her phone, ever since we traced her IP address the phone hasn't moved from this particular location, but no worries, she thinks she's smart, did she know we were tracking her? " he shouted out to police officers then stares at me
"some of you are going to search for her, Allie we'll need you to do us a favour"
"okay"
"we need a clothing that belongs to Brenda through that if she's anywhere around here the search dogs can help trace her smell" he peeked at me with so much concern.
"see, i'm sure by now you know she's guilty that's why she's running, so please don't back out of this, the criminal needs to serve her punishment" he whispered
"sure I won't" I said trying to hold back my tears.
When I had arrived home a heavy rain had started to fall, I walked into the house in a rush, when I had gotten in I met chuck and my mom in the living room, Chuck had carried my baby in his arms.
"Allie we've been waiting for you! " my mom exclaimed
"okay i'm here now" I said with all seriousness.
My body had been drenched from the rain, seen chuck at this moment didn't make things any better. All he ever spoke of was the wedding, and at this moment I wasn't ready for that.
"why don't you go freshing up, have a hot bath, then come down stairs "
"Okay" I replied as I matched up the stairs ignoring chuck's presence.
I got out of the bathroom wearing just a towel and slippers, when I met chuck in my room looking around. I screamed like I had seen a ghost I was about rushing back into the bathroom when he spoke out.
"why are you running?, we are still going to get married, so why hide?"
"but it's not right " I said as I backed him.
"Waow, it's not right, you talk like you've never been with a man" he said in a gloomy tone
"I'm sorry but what we have is different "
"okay let me guess, you don't love me, that's why..."
"...anyways it's cool, your mom and I already agreed on us getting married next month "
"what?!?, but I told you I wasn't ready" I turned around facing him
"see Allie, it almost feels like you'll never be ready"
"if you're a patient person then you would be able to wait, don't rush me into anything, go and tell my mom that we are not ready"
He looked at me in the eye with tears gathering round his eyes, he looked pretty upset like he was going to yell at me, but he storms out of the room instead.
After a while upstairs I decided to go Join them downstairs, on getting there Chuck was nowhere to be seen.
"mom has he left "
"yes, are you happy now" she grunted out loud
"mom you two need to understand that I need time"
"you don't need time!, you two have to get married before you end up meeting some other useless dude that ends up dying, how aren't you sure it's not an ex-girlfriend that killed him"
"mom can you quit it!, just stop judging him"
"so what did the police discover" she asked
"just her cellphone, I'll need to get a piece of clothing belonging to Brenda, they'll need that to search for her, at least they could trace her perfume or something "
"oh jeez, this investigation is hopeless, just as hopeless as the deceased "
"mom can you please respect my child's father"
"I'll try" she sighs out loud
"I think I need to report your undying hatred for Joel to the police"
"better don't put me in any trouble" she furiously said
