It was a Friday morning the sky was clear, today was a special day at least it ought to be, it was my wedding day.

I could hear sounds of people from outside my room, i wasn't one of those excited brides I felt gloomy, i didn't even want to leave my bed.

I laid there looking at the ceiling of my room wishing this was all a dream that was going to end. I closed my eyes as I tried going back to sleep then I hear a soft knock on the door.

I felt like ignoring the person until I heard my name being called out, it was my mother.

"Allie are you still sleeping " she said cheerfully

I got up from my bed as I grumbled on my way to the door, I opened the door wide then closed it after she got in.

She walked into the room looking really excited, she had a bright smile which I had not seen in years.

Her hair was packed in a chignon style she had put on a red sheath dress with a black pump heel.

"dear I hope you've had your bathe,  the makeup artist is downstairs,  should I tell her to come" she said cheerfully.

"no not yet, is this all necessary? " I asked as i yawned.

"dear you need to look gorgeous today, as you can see I'm dressed already, get ready!!, don't keep your groom waiting!!" she said with a huge smile on her face

"okay I'll let you know when the makeup artist can come in"

My mom leaves the room in a heist, slamming the door shut.

Twenty minutes later, I had just got out of the bathroom when I saw my phone screen lighten up, I rushed to check if I had any important message on it.

I picked up the phone from my bed and unlocked it, I had five missed calls from detective robles.

It was my wedding day, I didn't know if it would be right to be in contact with the police, most especially if it had to do with Joel's death.

I dropped my phone back on the bed as I rushed into my closet to put on something simple.

After I had put on some clothes I picked up my phone to check if I had anymore missed calls from the detective.

I had received an addition of two calls and a text message from him.

Call me it's urgent.

I went into my call log to make a call to detective robles, but before I could make the call my mom got into my room with my wedding gown in her hands

"hey darling! " she said with a huge smile on her face

"what are you doing with your phone!" she exclaimed

"it's your wedding day, you shouldn't be making use of that device"

She took my phone from my hands then handed over to me my wedding gown, she then switched off my phone.

"for your phone I'll keep it, also someone will be coming in to help you fit in your dress, put a smile on" she said giggling as she catwalks out of the room.

After she had left I sat on my bed sober, I started weeping nonstop I wish it were Joel and I getting married today.

If I could turn the hands of time I would have done everything in my power to protect him.

Maybe if he had never met me he would have still been alive, the guilt of once been friends with his killer made me feel like I betrayed him.

I felt like taking my life at this moment, i used my eyes to scroll round the room for anything or anyway I could hurt myself.
