Chapter 37

Detective Robles walked into his office while I sat on a cantilever chair as I waited for him.

"Thanks for coming" he said with a huge smile on his face.

"you look happy today"

"yes, I'm very happy, I'm finally going to be free from your case"

"did you find evidence against chuck" I asked with a smile on my face

"hmmm" his face turned paled immediately

"chuck isn't involved in joel and Brenda's murder"

"hope you're not going to put the blame on my mom"

"no, I don't need to. Allie we found some incriminating evidence against her, we even brought her in for questioning, at the beginning she maintained her innocence, but after we showed her our evidence she cracked up"

"why would my mom kill him?? "

"maybe cause she didn't like him,  you're free to ask her, she's under our custody already so you can see her in the visitors room"

"how did you come about the evidence"

"well before we brought her in for questioning we had to make sure Brenda's family got to know of her death, so they brought the body over here to LA, then we tried our possible best to get some DNA sample from her, it was difficult but we were able to do it, after the results came out we matched the DNA result with that of yours, chuck and your mom's. And only hers matched, and that's not all... "

"Gosh I can't believe there's more" I whispered to myself, placing both my two hands on my forehead.

"we also checked through her phone during the interrogation, she didn't have any issue handing her phone over to us, she thought deleting old messages would cover her tracks, but she was wrong, we have both the DNA result and old text messages between she and Brenda to incriminate her, all that's left is her call records"

"Waow so my mom is a murder"

"yes, she also confessed on trying to frame you"

"Did she tell you how she did everything"

"Well Brenda did it all, you claimed that on that day you and Joel had to go grocery shopping, but he didn't make it but later on he sent you a message right?"

"Yes"

"That was when the murder took place, then she said she made sure she got an alli through you and the neighbor, that was the so called 'fake bathtub incident' "

I placed my right hand on my mouth covering it to hide my shocked expression.

"She then said while you were over at her place, Brenda took the opportunity to take him to the apartment and make it seem like it all happened there"

"What about the camera footage of the apartment"

"Was tempered with, that she refused to let me know how she did it. She was the one who shut you at the cemetery and sent you the anonymous email, her plan was to kill the baby"

"I can't believe this. can I see her?"

"sure"

We both stood up from our seats making our way out of the office straight to the visiting room.

When we arrived there detective Robles directed me into the room leaving me behind as I await my mom.

After a while she walked into the visiting room with a handcuff on both her hands. The sight of her made me feel so disgusted, at that moment I wanted to bombard her with lot of questions, but I knew I had to take things slowly in order to get my answers.
