A day had gone by after my visit to the police station. I was at the attic in my house going through some old stuffs like pictures, dolls and files.
Just seen my pictures of when I was young made me want to have a baby girl, so I could comb her hair, dress her up and make her look stylish and all of that.
I kept scrolling through the photo album, I paused for a while then started taking a proper look at the pictures starting with the pictures of when I was ten years below.
The old times memory felt so good, on getting to the part of when I was seven years old I started seeing pictures of my dad, he had died in a car accident when I was seven, the brakes of his car had failed on that faithful evening.
I still remember it like it happened a week ago, it was cool evening, my dad was in the drivers seat and I in the front passenger seat, my mom sat at the back seat. We were going on a trip, we were in the middle of a narrow road, the road wasn't busy it was just us, at least for a while.
Until I had an issue, being really young I was scared of animals, when I was in the car I felt something touch my leg, if I had known I would have just been a brave girl and tackled such matters by myself.
Being a daddy's girl and an only child, I always got the attention of my dad anytime I was in trouble. So on that day when I felt something touch my leg, i screamed at the top of my voice and that got my dad's attention making him loose focus on the road after all the road wasn't a busy one.
On his quest on helping his little girl he lost guard over the wheels and brake of the car, all of a sudden a humongous lorry from nowhere arrived rushing straight to our direction, i screamed way louder than I did when I felt something touch my legs, my eyes opened wide as the front light from the lorry penetrated into my pupil.
My dad tried hitting the brakes but they failed, after the incident my dad was left in a terrible condition, with some serious damage done to his temple. His head had hit the windshield of the car making some part of it to break and leaving some glass pierced into his scalp.
I didn't get any severe injuries like he did because I had my seat belt on me but he didn't have his, I wish he did, at least he would still be alive today.
My mom was left with no injuries or scratches as she sat at the back seat with her seat belt still on. After his death I've been living with the burden that I cost his death, if only I had not convinced him to take us on that trip maybe what occurred that day would have never happened.
Sometimes my mom does make me feel even more guilty for his death, most of the time due to frustration she would yell at me and blame me for his death.
But anyways I'll forever live with that burden. As I continued going through the photo album I kept seeing pictures of me at age Six, five and below. When it got to one of the most cutest part of a child's life when I was a baby, the pictures seemed to have an end there were no pictures, only one with just me in it.
My mom always told me that those pictures were with a relative who stayed with them when I was a child, I won't lie I badly wish to see those pictures.
I had finally gone through the whole photo album, I then decided to go through documents, maybe I would find any old pictures in between the files.
As I kept scrolling I came across so many interesting and funny pictures. Then I stumbled across one with a lady in it, she didn't look like anyone I knew but she did have a resemblance with me.
I guessed that she was my grandma when she was young, now I know were I got my looks from. I never got to meet my grandma but I did get to meet my grandpa, the only pictures of my grandma I had seen were the ones when she was old.
