We had just arrived at a fancy French resturant, it literally took him years to find a perfect parking spot."My lady we are here" he said with a huge grin on his face
I put on a false smile as I got out of the car.
We both walked into the resturant, it was quite fancy, the floor and ceiling looked like they were made of gold, everything reflected so well on the floor, the floor looked spotless like no one had ever stepped on it.
I had never seen such luxury, I thought I knew what fancy was until I stepped into this resturant.
Everyone seemed so familiar with chuck over here. The workers showed a sense of joy and respect when we walked in, I never knew he was this famous.
"Sir we have an available table for you at the private suite, would you like that" the butler said to him
"sure"
**********
We both sat close to each other as they served us our food.
"So Allie tell me about yourself" he said
"what would you like to know about me"
"okay start with your family"
"well I'm from Phoenix, Arizona. I did stay there till I turned 18, then my mom and I moved here. I'm an only child, nothing much to say " I said with a smile on my face
"nice what about your dad " he asked putting on a serious face
My face turned paled when he asked me that question, it felt like the past had come hunting me again.
"his dead" I said slightly placing my head down.
"I'm sorry, didn't mean to offend you" he said
"it's okay"
"Relationship wise, are you single "
"No"
"Waow, so whose the lucky man"
I chuckled as I smiled at him.
"no I'm the lucky lady, his just a childhood friend of mine "
"really, how did you two meet again, I guess his from Arizona also "
"well he moved down here for a job"
"what does he do for a living " he asked with his face looking upset
"his a car repair man" I said putting my head down in a bit of Shame.
"Oh ok" he said putting on a irritated face as he composes himself, raising his shoulder high giving me that proud look.
We continued our lunch as silence Struck. I felt really uncomfortable after answering him, felt like he had lost interest in me when I told him Joel's job.
Not like I care about him, but I never liked when people looked down on me.
*****
I slammed the main entrance door to my house as I sluggishly entered my house, Chuck had volunteered to drop me after work was over.
I see my mom sitting on the couch as she cross both her legs watching one of her favorite soap operas.
"mom I'm back" I said to her softly
"yes I know I can see you clearly " she said in a harsh tone
"I'm not blind" she said silently
I breath in and out slowly as I tried ignoring my mom's apathy towards me.
"hope there's food" I asked softly
"well if you want food, ask your broke boyfriend to get some for you " she sighs as she continues with her film ignoring me.
I walked up the stairs to my room to get changed and have a quick bath.
As I stormed into my room I sight my phone on my right drawer next to my bed.
I rushed towards it to check for any calls or messages, I unlocked the phone to meet 15 missed calls and one text message , 12 missed calls and a message from joel, the rest calls from my friend Brenda.
I didn't hesitate, I tapped on the message in a rush
Hey babe i was hoping we could have lunch as usual, you're not taking my calls, guess you're i'll pick you up from work ILY.
I smiled at my phone screen, this message had just made my day. I went to my contact dialed his number and called him several times, but he didn't return any of my calls.
After having my bath that evening I went downstairs to make some dinner for myself.
I held my phones close to me as I stared at the phone screen althrough waiting for his calls.
Later on that evening after dinner I laid on my bed using my laptop for work related things.
I was a more like a blogger, writing the latest scoop on celebrities, politician, their lifestyle, personal issues etc. Most of my Articles landed on top magazine and vanguard.
But the problem I always had was I never got the credit, the company got all the credit for all my hard work.
My dreams was to have a media house, like the one I worked at and also become a very successful blogger.
