"We're not going home," Chris growls.

My stomach drops. How mad is he?! I didn't have time to consider it long as he makes a sudden right into the Lux Hotel.

I can't help but gape. I didn't feel worthy to be in the parking lot let alone the front door. It oozes class and wealth, even the patrons walking around are of a certain calibur.

A valet dressed in a sharp red and black uniform runs over to the door and practically jumps with excitement.

"Checking in Mr. Glass?" He asks respectfully.

"Yes," he replies stiffly, handing the young man a fifty dollar bill. "My regular spot." The valet nods and jumps in, waiting for me to get out.

Chris opens the door and holds his hand out for me to take. The mood swings are giving me whiplash and I'm left sitting there stunned.

"Baby?" He asks softly, coaxing me out. I take it gingerly and slide out. He drapes his suit jacket over my shoulders before placing his hand on my lower back to guide me in.

The doorman was dressed in a similar uniform and greeted Chris also, clearly he's a hands on boss. As we walked into the lobby I was utterly floored.

The area was huge and richly decorated in earth tones. It was not brightly lit which added to the elegance and drew your eyes to the seating areas or massive concierge counter.

A stunning blond in a meticulous black dress waited there with a million dollar smile, her blue eyes locked on Chris. Instantly I didn't like how she was looking at him.

"Mr. Glass, to what do we owe the pleasure?" She asks in the flirtiest way possible.

'Seriously?! Can she not see he's not alone?' 'Pretty sure I don't even show up on her radar.'

"Miss Chase," he replies, "just my keys."

"Cordelia," she says in a sultry tone as she runs her finger across her collar bone. I drop my gaze to the ground, not being able to watch anymore. The last thing I need to do is lose my shit on her and cause a scene to piss Chris off more.

"Is there anything else I can do for you Chris?" She asks, handing him the keys. Even from the corner of my eyes I could see the way she made unnecessary contact handing him the keys.

My eyes burned and my chest ached, I hated standing there like I was invisible. I couldn't control my emotions or the events and that upset me even further.

That she was acting that open with him was suffocating me. Have they dated or something? How can I even compete with someone like that? She's so polished and perfect; I'm not even fit to work here, I definitely do not belong here.

"Miss Chase," Chris said coldly, drawing my eyes up instantly. "While you are here, you are a representative of the Lux hotel." Her eyes went wide as her confidence faltered.

"As such, I expect a certain level of professionalism and decorum from you," he grits out.

"Chris I-"

"Mr. Glass," he cuts her off, clenching his jaw. "If you are unable to conduct yourself appropriately for this job, perhaps we need to reconsider this?"

Her colour has drained completely as it dawns on her just how badly she has overstepped.

"I apologize if I have offended or overstepped, please, I love this job," she begged.

"I will not have you or anyone else upsetting my mate," he glares at her. "Do I make myself clear?" He asks dangerously as he draws me closer.

"Crystal," she says bowing. "I really do apologize Mrs. Glass," she says directly to me. The sincerity is clear in her eyes but is it for doing it or being called out? I simply nod to end this awkward exchange.
