Chris POV

This isn't my first rodeo, but this conference is wearing on me. I'm sure Jess has something to do with it, but I swear they're burying us in more shit then normal. Currently they're diving up the disputes for tomorrow, the list is long, the day will be ridiculous.

"Christ, how many disputes are there?!" I exclaim as I flip the page over and scan the next.

"Enough that even having two rooms going back to back we may very well need a second day or more to get through everything," Silas admits.

Dimitri groans loudly as Kane and Marcus scowl as they flip through the pages.

"I don't know why you're fussing, you have the lightest load," Marcus drawls.

"No trading," Dimitri snaps. The idiot thinks he's won, but the lighter load just shows how little faith the council and his fellow packs have in him. When a dispute is lodged they can request adjudicators, apparently I'm popular.

"Looks like we'll be spending the day together," Kane growls. At least half of my cases were with him, Marcus got the lion's share of what was left, and only a few with Alexander. At least we shouldn't have to bicker much.

"Jess is going to the club?" Kane asks, furrowing his brow. I shrug, she didn't say anything. "That's what I thought, like I'm gonna let her shake her ass-"

"Let her go Kane," I groan. "Or do you intend to keep her prisoner?" He grumbles about unmated males and killing. "We'll be done here soon enough and can join them."

"So, she is going?" He asks hopeful.

"Yeah, Sara just linked. I told her to make sure Jace and Jude were there too, apparently Xavier and Claire are keen too. With Nex they should be able to stay out of too much trouble?" I'm not sure if I'm trying to convince him or myself.

"A club though? Do I look like a clubbing guy?" Kane asks, scowling.

"Does it matter? Your mate wants to go dancing, you dance, that's what booze is for," I dig with a smart ass grin.

"I'm going home to shower and change, meet you in a half hour?" I ask. He nods and we split up.

-----

As we walk up to the club the base is thumping a dance rhythm well into the distance. I've never been a fan of clubs but it was dancing at a club with Jess that turned the tide.

"Relax man, I've seen you rip a wolfs head clean off in battle, it's a fucking club," I say with a laugh.

"I am relaxed," he growls out as he continues to stare down the crowd.

"Right," I say rolling my eyes.

There were a fair amount of people waiting on the outside to get in. It was almost like a tailgate party as people danced in the street to the beat.

We strode right up to the door and they let us straight in, finally a perk of being principal five. There was nothing unique or interesting to me about this club. If Jess wasn't in here somewhere I wouldn't have been either.

It was large and packed to the brim. There was a second half floor balcony area, the perimeter was booths with a couple tables in the corners. But everyone was here to dance and crowded on the dance floor in front of the DJ.

Her cinnamon and cherry blossom scent hit me like a smack in the face. I scanned the masses but couldn't find her, Cyrus was getting twitchy and I was right there with him.

"Isn't that your head warrior?" Kane asked, pointing left.

Sara was in a skin tight strappy short red dress and catching a lot of attention as she danced to the beat. Currently she was chewing out some guy for getting fresh. The crowd moved painfully slow as we made our way towards her, even with Kane growling like a junkyard dog.
