A/N ~Wicked Wiles~ is now up. It's a fun ligh hearted Halloween short, featuring Kane&Willow, Chris&Jess and Nex&Sara. MATURE (not slow burn 🥵😅)
"Well if you don't want to claim her brother I'll just show her a good-"
Chris growled, swiftly closing the gap till he was standing inches from me staring down at me like a hungry predator. His eyes flickered from hazel to brown as Cyrus fought to surface.
"Baby," he paused as his eyes raked over my body. "You look ravishing," he says, wonderstruck.
"Are you planning on just staring at her all night brother? A mate as beautiful as her is meant to be enjoyed and appreciated," Derek chided. If looks could kill Derek would have been a pile of bloody goo on the ground at that moment.
"People are staring Chris," I whispered, noticing the ring of eyes around us. If I could have I would have burst into flames.
"Let them," he growled as he swept me up. In his arms everything disappeared, there was only him and the music. His kiss was so tender and soft, and erased all doubt I had in coming here. As long as I'm with Chris I'll be fine.
"Dance with me?" He asked, smiling down at me. I nodded, not trusting my voice and he led us to the floor. It was a slow song so an easy starter dance.
He dropped a hand slowly down the back of my dress running his fingers along the laces. I saw his eyes darken and he rumbled in approval as he settled in the small of my back pulling me tight. We swayed to the music for a moment before he nuzzled my neck sending shivers down my spine.
"You're testing me tonight, little one," he growled delightfully against my ear.
"Technically I picked the dress first, the lingerie came later," I gasped as his finger dug in pulling me tighter.
"Thank you for coming tonight."
"Turns out I wanted to after all," I said with a small giggle. "Sara got the dress and they waited till after you were gone to spring it on me." He looked thoughtfully for a moment before speaking again.
"That explains why Xavier insisted on my tux colour," he replied. We danced like that a little longer before I dropped my head to his chest. In such a short time this man has become my everything.
"Mind if I cut in?" Jace asks. The man looked straight off the cover of GQ. Chris considered it a moment but eventually handed me off.
"My elf, you look stunning tonight," he said as he took me in.
"You don't look too bad yourself," I replied, grinning back at him, hoping the dim light hid my blush. We finished the dance and a second before he broke off.
"I don't know about you, but I could use a drink," he said, still holding me tight. I just nodded. "Why don't you head over to the table and I'll get us around."
"Thanks, Jace," I said, stepping up on my tippy toes to place a light kiss on his cheek. His twinkling grey eyes snapped wide as he locked eyes with me.
"For Everything." I've never really stopped to thank him but he's done so much, I'm a woman of action more so than words. I'm sure he knows I appreciate him, but I want there to be no doubt. "For the dance, for preparing me for this dumpster fire. For dragging my timid ass out into the middle of the woods to go skinny dipping." I couldn't help but laugh at that, he had recovered and was grinning ear to ear.
"So much of who I am today, I owe to you," I whispered. He tucked a stray hair behind my ear and ran the back of his knuckles down my jaw.
"My elf, you were always there, you just needed some help to dust yourself off. I was only too happy to do it, look at you shine now," he said as he beamed at me. His words struck deep. Jace is such a goof, sincere Jace knows all the right words to bring on tears.
