I wake up securely wrapped in Chris's arms, having slept better then I have in over a week. Thankfully no new dreams or nightmares came last night.

Chris stirs behind me, nuzzling my neck and sending shivers down my spine. "Morning beautiful," he murmurs against my neck.

"Hey," I say sheepishly turning to face him. "I missed you."

"Me too," he says tucking my hair behind my ear and giving me a lingering kiss. Too soon he pulls away with a groan.

"What?"

"Jace is calling us for breakfast," he grumbles.

"Can't we just eat later?" I ask raising a brow.

His eyes snap to mine as a devilish grin spreads across his face. "Although I like the way you think, apparently our guest is getting impatient." I groan as he pulls away and gets out of bed.

"Well, he'll have to wait a bit longer, I'm showering first," I say stubbornly. He only laughs as I make my way to the bathroom. "Care to join me?"

His eyes scream yes, but his title says no. He kisses me once more before spanking my butt, "don't be long." He leans in close, inhaling deeply. "He's got to go home eventually, then your ass is mine," he growls in my ear.

His words instantly cause a throbbing in my core as my imagination flashes to life. I know I'm blushing, I can't help but look at him as he pulls away. Cyrus is dancing in his eyes, no doubt causing Chris added conflict. I spin and head for the shower as he heads downstairs.

After a quick shower I head down to the kitchen before my nerves could work themselves up.

"Boardroom elf," Jace calls when I enter.

"Oh, ok, lead the way," I say but he frowns.

"Not this time my elf," he says giving my hand a squeeze. "Chris is waiting for you though, he already grabbed you breakfast."

I couldn't help but tense up, why do I feel like I'm being sent to the principal's office.

"Relax, I'm sure it's nothing," he says. "Go before you get yourself all worked up."

The boardroom was nearly empty, the mystery man was seated at the far head of the table. The only other people were Derek and Chris. Somehow not having the other Guardians here didn't help my nerves.

"Ah Luna, come, eat," he gestures to the food on the table.

Chris slid a chair out for me and had a plate of french toast waiting for me, he knows me so well.

"Jess, my name is Jess," I mutter. Chris's large hand lands on my thigh and squeezes to say drop it.

"Derek said you weren't one for titles," he sits back musing as he studies me.

"What else has Derek said?" I snap, annoyed that Derek pretended to be my friend but just told all my business to this stranger.

"A lot actually. He speaks very highly of you, something he doesn't of many," he says slightly amused by my annoyance.

I keep picking away at my breakfast to avoid talking to him further.

"You're stubborn, defiant, willful, a magnet for trouble," he begins as Chris growls.

"What's untrue brother?" Derek jokes, clearly having regained some of his regular demeanor.

"But also brave, loyal, fierce and resilient. I've read his report on the flayer incident, quite remarkable," he trailed off, clearly wanting something from me.
