I woke up to Chris running his hand up and down my bare thigh while the other traced circles on my back. I'll take this over an alarm clock any day.

"Morning beautiful, how'd you sleep?" He asked, his voice deep and gravelly from sleep.

"Like the dead," I replied nuzzling into his chest. I wonder if staying in bed like this all day is an option?

"Same," he says with a chuckle.

"I like these," he says running his fingers over the lace of my cheeky shorts. "You should wear these more often," he mumbles kissing my head.

"You keep killing them," I scoff.

"So buy more... expect casualties," he says with a chuckle. "Sorry baby, I've got to get my ass in gear or I'll be late, I just wanted to talk with you before I left." I couldn't help but frown at that.

"They've requested your presence at two to go over the reports. It will be a smaller meeting, but they will likely ask questions about your role and what happened." His tone is guarded and leaves me uneasy.

"What do I say?" I ask.

"The truth. I left a copy of the reports I submitted as well as the ones Eric did."

"But?" I prompt knowing there's something else.

"I-'' he starts unsure of how to phrase it. "There's no doubt I would have died that day if you didn't come when you did... I don't want people challenging you to see what you're capable of though." His tone is strange, guarded but worried.

"So downplay my part of the fight?" He looks at me with guilt in his eyes and nods. "Relax," I say cupping his cheek. "I understand why, and it makes sense. I'm already drawing enough attention to myself, I'm good with not purposely adding to it." He laughs at that.

"Thank you baby," he says kissing the top of my head. "I'll be right there with you the whole time. The rest of your day is free, why don't you find Willow? You two seem to get along pretty good?"

"Might just do that," I mused, she was the most normal of the Lunas here. I groaned as he pulled away and got ready. He kissed me goodbye and that would be the end till the meeting this afternoon.

A quick shower and I went down after getting ready. Sara and Jude were waiting for me.

"Thought you were going to stay up there all day, let's go I'm hungry," Sara whined extra dramatically today.

"What's up drama llama? Could have gone without me?" I goad.

"Someone has to keep you out of trouble," she grumbles.

"Judes been doing it longer than you," I dig.

"And let him have all the fun again while I'm left at home?" She chirps. "I think not."

"Are you mad about last night?" I ask skeptically.

"Not mad, but it would have been nice for an invite though," she mumbles.

"Sorry, it just kind of happened and normally you're always there," I apologized.

"Shut it, don't make this weird," she said with a smirk.

"If you two are done bonding I could use some food," Jude cuts in with a grin. We both smack him in the gut as we head out to the pack house.

I stare at the bubbling pot of spicy death as I scan the food options. Four cauldrons of soup and not one I can eat. Sandwiches with the same sauce that my stomach rebelled against the day before. And lastly some indian food that would kill me from the inside out.
