Sang is a mermaid who's song can mesmerize men to jump into the sea. Because of her mixed blood, she is chased out of her pod. Exiled, she meets other exiles who search for a place of acceptance. Together, they become a family. When they come across mer attacking a ship, Sang and her friends decide to help them, but things go awry.
The Ghost is a boat hunting for a mer for unknown reasons. When Sang sacrifices herself to save her family from the Ghost, she falls into the hands of fourteen men. Throughout the months they are together, they get to know one another. A captor and captive relationship turn into friendship, and friendship turns into a romantic relationship.
When a secret is revealed, Sang learns why they were searching to capture a mer. What will happen when they ask for something Sang can't give?
