Sang lives in a small village located near a volcano where the God of Fire and Heat resides. She and her family has lived there for almost a year when she learns the true reason why they moved there. She was to be the next virgin sacrifice to the God of Fire and Heat.
When she is thrown into the volcano, she expects to die in the lava when she is caught by a creature of scales and wings. She learns that the dragon is the god who never asked for sacrifices. He also reveals that the children both girls and boys that were given to him were often abused and poor. He gives Sang a choice: to become his child and a dragon or to have another chance above ground. Sang decides to join the dragon who introduces him to nine boys who immediately become her friends.
As years go by, the God is given an invitation to join a banquet the rulers of the kingdom is throwing to celebrate him. The dragon takes all ten to the banquet. Sang is shocked when she meets the king and queen who happened to be her parents. What does fate have in store for Sang?
