In the beginning, there was only Darkness but Kamimasuhi said, "Let there be Light." And there was light. The light was good so the Creator separated it from the darkness and called it "day." The darkness was called "night."

Thus ended the first Day.

In the second Day, Kamimasuhi said, "Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water." So the Creator made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. The Creator called the vault the "sky."

Thus ended the second Day.

In the third Day Kamimasuhi said, "Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry land appear." And it was so. Kamimasuhi called the dry ground "land," and the gathered waters They called "seas." Kamimasuhi saw that it was good.

Then Kamimasuhi said, "Let the land produce vegetation according to their various kinds." And it was so. The land produced vegetation plants bearing seed according to their kinds. And Kamimasuhi saw that it was good.

Thus ended the third Day.

In the fourth Day Kamimasuhi said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark Time and let them give light on the earth." And it was so. Kamimasuhi made two great lights—the sun to govern the day and the moon to govern the night. They also made the stars. Kamimasuhi set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the earth's day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And Kamimasuhi saw that it was good.

Thus ended the fourth Day.

In the fifth Day Kamimasuhi said, "Let the seas teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky." So Kamimasuhicreated the great creatures of the sea according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And Kamimasuhi saw that it was good. The Divine Creator Blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth."

Thus ended the fifth Day.

In the sixth Day the Kamimasuhi said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. Kamimasuhi made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And Kamimasuhi saw that it was good.

Then Kamimasuhi said, "Let us make humans in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

So Kamimasuhi made humans in Their own image, in the image of the Creator as They created them; male and female.

The Divine Creator Blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.  Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

Then Kamimasuhi said, "I give humans every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth. They will be yours for food."

"And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so.

Kamimasuhi saw all that They had made, and it was good. Thus ended the sixth Day.

By the seventh day the Kamimasuhi had finished the work They had been doing so They rested from all Their work. Then the Divine Creator Blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it They rested from all the work of creating that They had done.

And thus ends the tale of the Beginning, for the this World was created in Seven Days in Their Time.

Above, in the High Plains of Heaven, Amenominakanushi and Takamimusuhinokami watched as Kamimasuhi finished his work. When the Seventh day came and Kamimasuhi rested, they rejoiced.

They were satisfied with their Creations for they were Good.

In the Beginning only Three Curses were known. Given to those that had rebelled and caused the Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge to be eaten.

To the Snake the Divine Creator said,

"Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals. You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

To the Woman the Divine Creator said,

"I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."

To the Man the Divine Creator said

"Cursed is the earth because of you; through painful labor you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for from the earth you are and to the earth you will return."

To all that live in the seas, the earth, and the vault, rejoice that neither the fruit of the Tree of Life nor the fruit of the 'Divine Tree' were eaten.
