The last day of school came. I walked into school, preparing for what I thought would be just like any other day. When I was inside, all the students were looking at me, clapping. I looked at them confused.
"W-What's going on?" I asked as Lilly walks toward me.
"Follow me. You'll see", Lilly said.
We all gathered in the gym. We all sat down on the ground. Lilly, Peter, Connor, MJ and Ned were seated next to me.
"So...who wants to explain first?" I asked.
"The teachers don't know about this, but as tradition, the students of Midtown School Of Science and Technology, our school,would choose a student of the year on the last day",Lilly explained. "They chose you".
I looked at everyone in the room. I was speechless. I can't believe they chose me. If I knew about this at the beginning of the year, I wouldn't think they'd choose me thanks to all the unfriendly glances and disrespect I earned from everyone.
"Wh...What? Really, Guys?" I asked. The students nodded.
"Would you like to say anything?"Lilly asked.
"Uh, sure", I said. "All I can say is that my life has been a little upside down. It seemed to get better in one year. I was in that mansion, hoping that life will get better. Maybe I could save the world just like my brother. I'm not there...yet, but I earned something I never thought I'd get. I have friends and I have a family. I have a boyfriend. What more could I ask for?"
All of the students clapped. "Emma, Emma, Emma, Emma", they chanted as we all stood up. We walked out of the gym. When we got out of the gym, I saw Loki standing in front of us. I walked towards him. I placed my arms around his neck and kissed him.
Everyone continued to cheer. Next to us, Peter and MJ kissed and Lilly and Connor kissed.
Later that day, when the bell rang, signaling the end of school. Everyone gathered in front of the school to dance in celebration.
Lilly and Connor danced together. I smiled at them. Peter and Ned joined them. Most of us clapped to the beat.
Lilly grabbed my hand and led me to the group as Peter tried to get MJ to dance and Betty joined us.
Everyone joined us in dancing to the music. When the limo came me, Lilly, Connor, Loki and Peter got inside.
