19. Halloween

Emma's point of view

On Halloween, I decided to go to the party even though I knew that Luke would be there. Lilly and MJ said that they'd kick his butt if we see him.

They came over so that we could get ready for the party. MJ was going to be Mercy Brown, a real person who lived in 1872. People thought she was a vampire even after she died.

Anyways, after getting our costumes on, we heard a knock on the door. I opened it to see Wanda dressed as red riding hood, Pietro dressed as Kylo Ren, Shuri dressed as a Witch and someone dressed as a grim reaper.

"We're ready", Wanda says.

"For what? Where are you guys going?" I asked.

"With you", Shuri said as if that were obvious.

"I guess this means we're taking the limo", I said. I looked at the person dressed as the grim reaper. "Peter?"

"No, it's me", Loki says.

"Yeah, I don't know why I said Peter. He'd dress up as a teddy bear or something", I spoke, mostly to myself.

"It looks good on you", MJ said to Loki.

"Why thank you", Loki says. I smiled at him.

We made our way out of my room. We got out of the tower and saw the limo watching outside. We all went inside.

Inside the limo, Peter, Ned and Connor were already inside. Thor was in the passenger seat and Tony was in the driver's seat.

"When did you learn how to drive?" I asked Tony.

"Last night".

Me and Loki exchanged uneasy looks. We looked at the others, who gave us worried looks. I mouthed, "Brace yourselves".

MJ hung onto Peter, Lilly hung onto Connor, Wanda hung onto Pietro, Ned and Shuri hung onto the seats and I hung onto Loki.

"Mr. Stark, are you sure about this?"Peter asked Tony. Tony nodded. Peter looked at me as I shook my head.

Tony drove off. The drive wasn't bad. Everyone would get scared here and there. Everyone except Loki. He was always calm which still shocks me.

We had arrived at the party. Everyone except me got out of the car. I was suddenly starting to have cold feet.

Tony looked at me from the mirror. He gave me short nod. I got out of the car and joined up with the others.

"I wonder if this was a bad idea", Loki says. I put a hand on his shoulder.

"It'll be fun", I reassured. "As long as we don't run into Flash or Luke".

"If you want, Pietro can kick his ass with his super speed", Wanda says. Pietro nodded in agreement.

"Thanks, but we don't want to cause a scene. We should focus on having fun. Is this your first high school party?" I asked. Pietro, Wanda and Shuri nodded.

"Guys!" Lilly shouted as she ran toward us. "The dance circle is starting!"

Lilly, Connor, Peter, MJ and Ned walked towards the circle. I looked at Pietro, Wanda, Shuri and Loki.

"You guys will love this. Trust me", I said. Wanda, Pietro and Shuri walked towards the circle, leaving me and Loki.

"You and I have different definitions of fun", Loki said.

"You have nothing to worry about", I said. I grabbed his hand. We walked towards the dance circle and the show started by playing "Calling all the Monsters", By China Anne McClain.

A group of students, who were dressed as Zombies, came onto the dance floor. The crowd went wild as they danced. Then, they pulled me, Lilly and Connor into the group to dance with them. It seemed like the group got louder when we danced with the zombie dressed students.

As the zombie dressed students got off the dancefloor, Connor invited Shuri and Ned onto the dancefloor, Lilly invited Peter and MJ, I invited the Twins. I tried to invite Loki onto the dancefloor, but he declined.

We danced to the music as the crowd cheers grew higher. We danced to the rest of the song. When it was done, everyone cheered.

I went up on the roof to look at the night sky. Connor, Peter, Ned and Pietro talked to each other on the porch. Shuri, Lilly, MJ and Wanda talked to each other, sitting in the grass.

I took off my Effie Trinket wig and let out a sigh. I looked up at the sky and started singing.

I started to have a feeling that someone was watching me. I turned around to see Loki, standing on the roof. He sat down next to me.

"That was beautiful", he said.

"Thank you", I said.

"What's it called?"

"'Rewrite The Stars', sung by Zac Efron and Zendaya, who looks a lot like MJ", I said.

"May I listen to it?" Loki asks. I pulled out my phone and went onto YouTube. I typed in, "Rewrite The Stars Zac Efron and Zendaya".

I pressed on one of the videos and turned the volume up.

Loki smiles at me as we listened to the song. When the song was over, I turned off my phone. Me and Loki looked at each other. "What?" I asked.

"Nothing", he said with a small smile.

We leaned closer to each other as if we were about to kiss. Before our lips could touch, a car honked it's horn, scaring both of us.

We looked down to see the limo in front of the house. The windows rolled down to reveal Tony in the driver seat.

"Hey Love Birds. Stop making out and get in the damn car", Tony called out. Me and Loki glared at him.

Me, Loki and Lilly walked towards the car. I walked up to the driver door. Tony still had his window down.

"Did you seriously call us 'Love Birds', loud enough for people to hear?" I asked. Tony smiles at me which made me glare at him.

I turned around to look at Lilly when I heard her phone ring go off. Lilly answered the call. "Hey Mom", she said. "Yes I'm on my way back home".

A worried look grew on Lilly's face as the person on the phone spoke. "But that means I'll be alone on Thanksgiving". Lilly sighs. "And of course you don't care", Lilly said. Lilly nodded her head as the person on the phone spoke.

"Okay. I love-" Before Lilly could finish, she looked on the phone and saw that her adoptive mother already hung up. Lilly puts the phone back in her pocket and sighs sadly.

I looked at Tony with a sad look. "Her parents don't treat her right. I don't think they care about her at all", I said.

"I got an idea", Tony says. He looked at Lilly. "Hey Kid". Lilly looks at me and Tony. "Wanna come for Thanksgiving?"
