Since the start of Dolly's full-time baby's life, a night or two each week, Mona and Dolly spend sorting out things at Dolly's apartment. While Dolly has the apartment for a month, both want to get it cleaned out and not be bothered about it.
Even though the month flies by. Dolly tags what she wants and doesn't want with Mona encouraging her to take all she needs from her past. The one large extra room at Mona's house can hold all Dolly would like to bring, besides adding items around the house.
There are a few boxes of records, some photos, and remembrances that Mona insists Dolly takes. Telling Dolly, it will be something for her to go through as tasks to keep Dolly busy during the days Mona is at work.
Mona explains that Dolly needs to cherish what little she has that brought Dolly to this fantastic place with Mona. Only by going through and organizing things will Dolly be able to return to these memories when needed from time to time.
Now at the end of the month, everything is boxed and marked for the movers. The movers are scheduled for Saturday, and Dolly's apartment is bare. Mona gets a cleaning service in so Dolly can get her deposit back. (Which Mona doesn't tell her, but that deposit is equal to what she paid to have the apartment cleaned).
Everything is delivered and placed. And now this house is genuinely Mona's and Dolly's home.
Unknown to Dolly, Mona also has her will changed to leave the house and all of Mona's possessions and money to Dolly, outside of some charitable giving. Mona feels better now, having taken care of everything for Dolly's secured future.
