Y/N's POV

21 years later...

"Frodo!" I shouted, banging on the door to Bag End (Bilbo and Frodo's house).

"No admittance except on party business! Read the sign!" Bilbo's voice yelled as it came closer to the door. The old man opened the door and I said "It's just me, Bilbo."

"Oh! Sorry, Y/N. If you're looking for Frodo, I don't know where he is. But I'm sure you do!" Bilbo said cheerfully. He was going to be turning one hundred and eleven very soon and the party was going to amazing. Gandalf was bring his amazing fireworks (and he was already late), there would be presents, food, and dancing, but most of all, everyone wanted to hear Bilbo's speech.

Not only was it Bilbo's birthday, but Frodo's as well. He was turning 33 and was coming of age. Of course, I had gotten him a present. I had gotten him a heart locket with a picture of the two of us by the tree inside. I had also gotten a matching one for myself.

"I'll go and find him! Thank you!" I called, running off into the woods

He looked up at me with a smile and said "Hello, Y/N. Come and sit." Frodo patted the spot next to him and I sat down.

"As soon as I knocked on the door, Bilbo started raving on about 'no admittance except on party business'. The poor man's worked himself to death with all of these invitations and everything else." I said, resting my head on Frodo's shoulder.

"Does he seem different to you?" Frodo questioned. I frowned. "I mean, he's always looking at old books and maps. It's almost like he's not in the present time anymore. He's in his own world. He's...unsociable, as some say." Frodo explained.

"Yes. I suppose he is. It's like it's been getting worse and worse after all these years." I agreed, thinking about it. He was always putting his hand in his pocket and fiddling with something too...

My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of muffled singing. Frodo and I shared a glance before springing to our feet with a grin.
