I sit at my desk, listening to Reid explain my work to me and I happen to overhear Garcia and Morgan talking.
"But is she nice?" Penelope asks, sounding concerned.
I snicker under my breath at the question causing Reid to stop speaking.
"What was that for? Did I say something wrong?" Reid seems confused.
"No, no, I'm sorry, it's just that Garcia's worried about me being nice. Do I look mean?" I genuinely ask and Reid does a look over of me.
"You sit up straight, legs crossed. You show dominace but you're nervous by the way you bounce your leg. You glance around the room trying to see if anyone is looking at you because you're paraniod you won't fit in. In particular, you're looking towards Hotch," Reid says. I get flushed as he continues, "You want to prove yourself so you check and see if he's worried about you or if he cares at all. So, no, to a profiler, we can easily tell you aren't mean. But to an outsider, you're posture gives you away as a boss lady," Reid answers easily.
Wow, he's good. I nod, glad he doesn't seem to notice I'm really looking Aaron for approval and because he's dreamy.
"Anything else you need help with?" Reid questions. I glance down at me semi-filled work, and shake my head.
Garcia heads to her office and I swear I can hear Morgan ask Reid, "Getting some lovin' Pretty Boy?"
But my ears could be really wrong. At this point, I'm just ready to go home. I can tell this Aaron Hotchner thing might not work out since he's my boss, and I don't want to give Garcia anymore bad vibes than I apparently have.
All of the sudden Garcia comes out of her office, towards the bullpen, fast.
"Guys, we got a case. Let's go," She rushes up the stairs and Rossi and Hotch follow her.
We all meet in the round table room and sit next to Derek and Spencer, catching Aaron's eyes for just a glimpse. I awkwardly look away as he looks almost.. jealous? I don't know if that's actually the look I'm getting because before I know it, Garcia starts to speak.
"Today, three remains have been found, all from different years. James Lachlan, 3 years ago. Adam Yung, 2 years ago, and lastly, Nick Brent, last year. They were all killed around this time, and the local sheriff's office thinks the unsub might strike again soon," Penelope explains.
"They were all shot then stabbed. Why kill them the easy way then do overkill after they've already been killed?" Reid asks.
"Maybe it's a woman. Maybe these men have wronged her in some way and she's getting revenge on them," I bring up, feeling ever so smart. That quickly fades when Rossi chimes in.
"No.. Women worry about the mess that's made and who has to clean it up. They would've just stuck with a bullet wound," Rossi says. I nod understanding and I get a bit disappointed. I thought I was onto something.
I guess Aaron can see that and he says, "That was a good observation, though. Maybe the unsub's motive is revenge, but why?"
I try to hide my smile, but knowing I got Aaron's approval feels so good.
"Wheels up in thirty. Y/N. This is your first case. I hope you're ready."
I nod, confidently and everyone files out of the round table room.
Rushing home to pack my bag and get to the airport, just in time for me to get on the plane. I'm ready, Aaron. I'm so ready.
