"You believe this pig?" I shout. I'm typically a quiet girl, but this was unacceptable.
"Teach this girl how to be a proper lady, Hotchner. Take her back to the kitchen or something," Ken points to me. I see anger build up in J.J.'s face and I see Emily rush out.
"What happened?" She asks, seeing Ken's nose, and J.J. and I's angry faces.
"Oh dang, Sheriff, did a little lady hit you?" Emily asks, smiling, and she looks at me.
Aaron looks at her to back off before Ken gets to riled up again.
"Why did you hit Ken?" Aaron asks, anger in his voice, "This doesn't look good, punching the sheriff on the first case."
"Hotch he-" I breathe, uncomfortable with the words about to leave my mouth, "He tried taking advantage of me." I whisper the last part of the sentence and Ken scoffs.
"You actually believe her?" Ken asks.
"Y/N, get in the car. We'll talk later," Aaron says, looking at me.
"What?!" I say, shocked.
"I said get in the van," Hotch angrily says. I look at the team for help and Derek steps up.
"Hotch, what are you doing man?" Derek defends me.
"Ken, we're leaving. Clean up. You look awful," Aaron says, getting in his car.
What is going on? I thought he was different.
I give Ken a glare and he grins at me. The most disgusting smile I've ever seen in my whole life. Even the Grinch had a prettier smile than him. I slam my car door as I get in. You could cut the tension with a knife in the car as we drive to the hotel, tears brimming my eyes. I thought I could trust this team, I thought I could trust Aaron. The van parks and I get out immediately.
"Y/N, wait. We need to talk," Aaron says, rushing after me.
"I don't want to talk to you," I shout rushing in to the hotel lobby.
"Y/N. That's an order," Hotch demands and I stop in my tracks.
"Fine, let's talk, Hotchner. Why couldn't you defend someone on your team who was sexually assaulted by the sheriff of the case you're working with him on?" I spit, whispering enough that I don't draw attention to Aaron.
"Look, he's done this in the past, and confronting him does nothing," He answers, "It was a case when I first joined the Bureau, and he assualted a female worker of mine, Jessica. Rossi and our team confronted him and all of us almost lost our jobs. His dad works for the board of directors, he has a lot of power, and his charisma got us in a lot of trouble. Jessica quit after that. This was your first case, but I can tell with practice, you have potential and I wasn't going to lose you too."
I'm taken aback by the last sentence.
He sees my potential? Really? I don't want to lose him either.
I nod, telling him I understand, and I head to my hotel room, getting my stuff.
This week was wild.
