"Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?" (Kai and Nya)

Summary; Kai and Nya lose their parents at 12 and 14 instead.

The little 3 year old girl ran up to her older brothers room, knocking on it softly, with her beanie, gloves, and scarf. It was one of the rare days it would snow where Kai and Nya lived, and there was always a lot.

"Kai?" She called out, a smile on her face. "Do you wanna build a snowman?" She asked. No answer.

"Nya, come on and get your brother! We can build snowmen!" Maya yelled from downstairs.

"I'm coming mom! I'll be there in a few minutes!" Nya yelled back, knocking on the door again. She was beginning to get worried, fearing that he had fallen asleep on one of the best days ever.

She decided to barge in, as there was no way she was waiting any longer.

She pulled open the door to see Kai still fast asleep, with a few blankets on him, snoring softly. Nya smoked, and rushed over to his bed, pulling the blankets off and jumping on top of him. He groaned, and turned around, causing Nya to fall into the ground.

"Kai! Look outside!" She said, shaking him again. "Look!" She pointed, opening the blinds.

The sky was plastered over with a white cloud, and small snowflakes fell down from them, adding more onto the ground as there was.

Kai immediately got up and rushed out of bed, combing his hair and putting on all of his stuff.

"What are we waiting for, let's go!"

The family of four played outside for an hour, throwing snowballs and making snow men, or 'snow people' as how Nya said it.

Achoo!

Is what stopped them from staying out any longer. Kai caught a cold, and by the time he was inside, the fireplace was lit, blankets buried him and he was asleep, with his plushie in his hands.

Nya sat beside him the whole time, waiting until he was better.

"When you get better, we can go and build snow people again, and throw snowballs at each other again! But..your health DOES come first!" She said, trying not to wake him.

Ray chuckled behind the duo. "Oh Nya, you're so caring. However, you can't stay here all night. You have to go to sleep." He said, picking the girl up. She whined. "Can't I stay here with Kai? What if he needs someone during the night?" She answered.

Ray looked over at his wife, who gave a smile. "Oh, okay then. Only for tonight though. You can have a bath, grab some of your own blankets, and you can stay with Kai by the fireplace for the night." She said.

"Yay! Thank you mommy!"

"Nya, get up. Guess what, it's snowing today!" Maya said from the door. The 7 year old immediately jumped up, and looked outside. Her mouth was agape, and her eyes twinkled as she watched the snowflakes parted on the ground.

"Does this mean..no school?!" She ran up to her mom, and she nodded, laughing. "Yes! Another snow day!" Maya kisses her daughters forehead. "You and your brother can play today, me and your father have got to have a meeting with Dr. Saunders. You remember him, right?" Maya said. Nya nodded. "Yeah! He's sooo nice! I remember he gave me a bow for no reason!"

Nya got into her clothes, and rushed off to her brothers room.

"It's snowing again, Kai!" She yelled Form the other side of the door. It opened, and the two siblings smiled at each other.

"Do you wanna build a snowman?"

"You know it!"

This time, Kai didn't get sick, and the duo spent at least 2 hours outside, until their parents came back, and told them to go inside, and get wrapped up in blankets. They were going to watch a Christmas film.

"..Mom, Dad?" Nya said, walking down the stairs. Nothing. She was ready to go on a day out with her parents and Kai, but she can't seem to find the two anywhere.

Worries risen, she headed outside.

A table was knocked over, along with tea cups spilled. The 12 year old gasped, tears forming in her eyes. Swords and other weapons fell from their place, and the place looked like it had been broken into.

"Kai! She screamed, rushing up to her big brother. He opened the door to his bedroom, a curious look on his face. "Sis, you okay?" He asked, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Mom and dad are..they're..not here.." She managed to pant out. "I think..they're gone. D-Dead."

Kai gasped, and ran down the stairs, Nya following close behind. There was some scattered blood, assuming someone had harmed them. Tears fell down his face rapidly, and he fell to his knees. Nya rushed over to his side. The two hugged for hours on end, with no intention of pulling away.

Nya wore a silver beanie, a black coat and gloves, and a blue scarf.

Today was a snow day, a day that the family would love.

It had been 2 months since they had to face the fact that their parents are dead. They still weren't over it, and Kai would barely come out his room.

Tears blurred her eyes once again, and she knocked softly, hoping for an answer.

"Kai please, I know you're in there.."

"People have been asking where you've been.."

"They say, "have courage", and I'm trying to.."

"I'm right out here for you, just let me in.."

"We only have each other.."

She slid down his door, letting her tears loose, suppressing a shaky sob.

"It's just you and me.."

"What are we gonna do..?"

She swallowed.

"..Do you wanna build a snowman..?"
