It's the forest. The forest outside District Three. It looks exactly the same, and I can recognize it from walking around inside it so much to escape. The only difference is that it's colder; much, much colder.

The forest is brown in all directions, except for the bright green leaves on the trees above us. Everything is wet with a either a thick layer of dew, or a recent drizzle. It makes the brown darker, and the leaves greener.

The Cornucopia really stands out, its golden coat covered in a thin layer of water. Around it on the earth lie backpacks, weapons, first aid kids, blankets, jackets, even a pile of wood. Everything we'd need to survive.

I stand at the exact middle of the semi-circle around the Cornucopia, and we all stand in some sort of meadow. The trees are cut away to form a perfect circle around us and the Cornucopia. But unlike a meadow, there are no flowers and there's no grass. Just the dirt, leaves, and some wood chips.

The closest object to me is a first aid kit, and and a few feet beyond that lies a backpack with a thick blanket attached. The first aid kit is something I could do without, but since it's so close I'll get it. It will still come in handy. The backpack is something I will definitely get; it could contain anything. Or it could contain nothing. The next thing that catches my eye is at the base of the Cornucopia; two belts of knives. Obviously meant to lure me to go to the Cornucopia, and to lead me to my death.

They've done the same to Adam; I see him, four tributes to my left, eying a spear that's next to my knife belts. He's obviously going straight to the Cornucopia, and I'm not surprised; he's so arrogant that he probably figures he can make his way out of the bloodbath with ease.

Four tributes to my right is Rikki King, the District Two tribute who said she'd ally with us. I see her eying a sword a few feet from my knife belts. She looks at me after a couple of seconds, and tilts her head very slightly to the left. You wouldn't notice if you weren't paying close attention. I give her the slightest nod possible, and pass the look onto Adam. He gives me a slight nod back.

When the gong sounds, I sprint forward, grabbing the first aid kit and backpack. I sling the backpack over my shoulder as I keep sprinting, and I notice that the first aid kit also has a strap on it. I sling that over my shoulder too as I near the Cornucopia.

I grab my belt of knives, throwing one over my other shoulder and sliding the other around my waist. Rikki beat me there and covered me as I did this, but no one has reached us yet. "Thanks." I mutterer, drawing two knives, one for each hand.

"No problem. Where's Adam?" She asks me as we wait by the base. We eye the other things, but it's all weapons.

A few seconds after she asks, Adam comes sprinting up, grabbing the spears. He has a backpack, and I notice that Rikki does too. David's also got a canteen. "Let's get the hell out of here!" He yells, and we fight our way through the bloodbath.

We stick together in our small group, fighting off tributes who try and kill us. Rikki has to drive her sword into a girl's shoulder once because she's very persistent, and I can see how much it costs her as we run away. There's a look of disgust on her face, and I know it's for herself.

We run, Nikki's long brown hair blowing behind her just like my blond hair does. We try not to huff and puff, but it's hard when you've been running so fast for so long. Sweat is starting to gather on my forehead, even though it's cold, and I can feel my knives becoming slippery in my hands. But I don't let them go. And my legs are staring to burn along with my lugs, but we push it. We can't risk stopping yet.

Finally I'm huffing and puffing so loud that I know tributes could hear us. "Stop," I say, huffing, "stop." I bend over, putting my hands on my knees as I try and catch my breath. Adam and Rikki do the same.

When we've caught our breath, Adam asks the question we've all been wondering about: "So, what now?"
